The house and location are lovely and remote. We saw many species of birds, fish, a few dolphins and we heard howler monkeys every evening not far off. The walk around the property is wonderful with many blooming flowers, and my two sons enjoyed their hikes with the dogs. The white dog didn't take a liking to my husband the first morning and kept barking at him, which was alarming, but he mellowed after a few hours and became very sweet and slept on our porch. We enjoyed the use of the fully equipped kitchen. I highly recommend a trip to Red Frog Farm, across the bay, for horseback riding and taco's. Be prepared for the bugs, it is the jungle after all. A fellow guest recommended using body oil to keep the No-see-ums from biting and it worked better than my insect repellant!
Beautiful and remote location!
We had a really nice stay with my friends in the Dolphin Bay Cabanas. Communication and planning was easy with Jelle. Everybody was really helpful and nice. I can recommend the dinners because her mother Janneke cooks a really tasty food and you can meet with other travelers. The house and the environment on the island is wonderful. You can rest on the deck, swim or go for a walk with the dogs.
Altogether we had a great vacation there.
Our stay at the Dolphin Bay Cabanas was the best of our trip. We were welcomed by Jelle and his family when we arrived and shown to our sweet little cabanas. The three days we spent with them were a pleasure. We spent many hours swimming, reading, hiking and of course taking that afternoon siesta. We found the grounds and cabana to be very well maintained and clean. Our favorite times were when we gathered around the table for our evening meal. Very intimate with great food and conversations with people from around the world. I highly recommend the Dolphin Bay Cabanas if you are looking for a place to completely relax and rejuvenate. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful 4 days at dolphin bay. The cabins were great and we loved lying in the hammocks for hours reading. We always looked forward to the breakfasts and dinners. Though make sure you bring snacks to get you through the daytime as all you will want to do once u arrive is relax at the place! Thank you Jelle, Diana and Janika for being great hosts (and oli says he loved going out in the canoo)!
Drinking and boating with guests is unsafe. The overall experience we had here was good but the drama when we brought this matter up tarnished the rest of our stay.
We had a great time at Dolphin Bay Cabanas. The little cabanas were lovely, clean, and comfortable. The location is AMAZING! Remote, yes, but also a great way to see a more beautiful part of the archipelago without the party scene and boats going back and forth all the time. The bay was so peaceful, we had a great time going on tours from there or just relaxing in the hammocks. Also, there is bioluminescence in the bay which was AMAZING. We loved playing with the dogs too! The communal dinners were very nice and delicious- a great value.. Also be sure to get to the taco place across the bay- best tacos we’ve ever had for sure. Thanks to the Jelle, Diana, and Jannicke for the wonderful stay. We hope we can come again!
Jelle and his wife and mother were very welcoming. When we arrived in Bocas Town we called Jelle and he advised us to get a water taxi (and where to catch one). His mother met us at the dock and made us feel at ease right away. She and his wife made delicious breakfasts and dinner. The cabana was lovely with a nice clean bathroom and right on the water. They helped us plan and arrange various activities including a beach trip, snorkelling and dinner at the taco restaurant across the bay. Meals are family style which was fun to meet and socialize with other guests (and plan daytripa together to reduce costs). The dogs are friendly and happy. The property is well maintained and quiet and peaceful. Lovely to watch Dolphins swim by as you sip your morning coffee.
Paradise: beautiful, peaceful, simply perfect!
Hosts: Jelle, his wife and mother very homy and friendly.
Amazing food, weather and places to visit around.
We enjoyed every minute there.
Jelle and family were very welcoming and accommodating. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time at the cabanas. Beautiful property and great people.
Jelle and Diana are a very nice couple and enjoyed the cabin very much.
