Thank you for a wonderful stay! The appointment was very clean and nice. We loved the view! Your warm welcome and relaxing atmosphere made it for a great mini vacation.
Come back soon!
Samish Island is an obscure and eclectic retreat about 2 hours north of Seattle. Richard and Sue's place is a beautiful contemporary home right on the beach, with stunning views. The unit itself is a comfortable and nicely decorated mother-in-law suite with a separate entrance, and the hosts are very nice and welcoming. Great getaway, would definitely go back!
This property was truly excellent and competitively priced. First, we had warm and welcoming hosts on the premises, who were very respectful and never in the way. Second, the accommodations were attractive and comfortable in the nicest property of the immediate area. Third, the environment is family-friendly and it worked great for our young family of 4 including high chair, pack and play, and toys included. We immediately commented that this visit should become an annual tradition. And for those not familiar with the area, the nearby small town of Edison is a real find with first rate foodie destinations such as Tweets and The Breadfarm. This place would also be lovely for a couple or two without kids.
Richard and Sue were great hosts, from making the arrangements to stay at their wonderful apartment on Samish Bay, to being flexible on an early arrival, allowing us to use their kayaks on the bay, to sharing and serving some fresh crab to us and welcoming us into their home to view the Seahawks vs. Broncos game! The apartment had a great view of the bay, was more than adequate for three of us, and in a great location - and having some great weather over the weekend didn't hurt.
Richard and Sue's place was absolutely stunning and amazing. They were extremely gracious and kind hosts and ensured we had a magical experience. We would return in a heartbeat and we highly recommend it to everyone who is planning on exploring the Northwest!
Richard and Sue were terrific hosts: welcoming and friendly; clear, reliable and responsive communicators; generous and interesting to talk with. As Airbnb hosts, we spend quite a lot of time and energy to create good experiences for guests – how great to be on the receiving end of that thoughtfulness! The space was comfortable and well-appointed with many hand-crafted touches, and the location can't be beat, with the tide coming in and out just off the deck. We kayaked in from Bellingham for our stay, and were able to pull up right to the deck. We even walked the 5.5 miles to Edison and back. Richard and Sue were always available to answer any questions and offer assistance and good conversation. We'll definitely be back!
Richard & Sue's place is outstanding. Radiant heating, knockout view, compact and comfortable apartment. They were very helpful in directing us to places and were gracious hosts! Samish Island and Edison are great for a relaxing and quiet time away.
Rich, thanks for the kind review! Glad you are home safe.
What a wonderful home base for our adventures to Edison and beyond! Richard and Sue are great hosts, and their place offers quiet solitude for watching sunsets, wildlife, and nearby freighters. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
We had a great stay! The space easily accommodated one couple in the bedroom and another on the pullout couch. The kitchen was fully stocked despite not having an oven. We loved being close to the cute shops in Edison and the ferry to Friday Harbor. Thanks Sue and Richard - we would love to come back on a future trip.
We spent the most relaxing weekend imaginable at Richard and Sue's wonderful waterfront apartment overlooking Samish Bay with views of San Juan islands and Mount Baker. A true hidden gem in one of the most beautiful locations we have seen anywhere. Richard and Sue are so welcoming and kind - we just felt so privileged and lucky to find this amazing place and meet such great people.
It's hard to imagine that there would be a better guest than Richard. Clean, quiet, friendly and generous. What more could a host ask for.? Richard's graciousness reassured us that running a vacation rental will be a very memorable/rewarding experience.
Richard and Sue are adorable! Very nice guests, communication was great before arrival, they took great care of the place and left it clean! i'll be more than pleased to welcome them anytime again!
Richard & friend were perfect guests! They were extremely tidy, respectful & gracious.
