My wife and I have 4 children. We live on the first floor of our 1902 home. We love cooking, travel and language....we all speak English and Spanish fluently!

This is very difficult as when we arrived my wife and I were so appalled, we had to find a hotel to check into. I've never seen rented property this bad. We wouldn't have managed to get our cases up the stairs as there was a double buggy, dirty clothing and other obstacles in the stairwell. The communal areas that needed to be passed through were filthy. When it says Loft (Attic) room, it's exactly that, a disgusting boarded loft, with rubbish everywhere, no lighting and what appeared to be exposed electrical cables. The building is of timber construction and there were no smoke alarms. The three floor exit route was hazardous to say the least. The bed sheets had not been changed since the previous users. The freezer was stained. The was no air-con. I really cannot think of anything good to say about this place. The laundry area, which we were hoping to use, I wouldn't have taken my dirtiest walking boots in there to clean. It was that disgusting. I really dread to think what squaller the people who rated this place highly, live in.

Everything was great! The neighborhood (Parkside) is one of Buffalo's nicer ones, and it is only a 15 minute walk from the Metro Rail Amherst stop. Mr. Slingerland is a fine host; though he wasn't in when I came, he left keys for me, and when we finally met a day later, we had a nice, long chat about nothing in particular. When I left the next morning, i was able to leave my suitcase in the house and come back later- a nice amenity!
Only stayed for a night but it was cozy, nice, and quiet. Jamie also provided fruit and coffee :-).
As someone originally from Buffalo, I can tell you this is absolutely one of the very best neighborhoods to stay. You get total privacy in renovated 3rd floor unit. Jamie was there to make sure that everything was great. Definitely recommend!
