Toshio's place was stylish, clean and well equipped with everything you need for a visit to SF. Location was next to Tenderlion so there were plenty of homeless and crackheads on the surrounding streets but this is typical in many areas of SF. In saying that, we never felt unsafe in this neighbourhood and found it easy to get to other areas using public transport and taxis. Toshio's place is a great size for someone traveling alone or a couple as the place is more of a studio. Extremely comfortable bed and high speed internet. Toshio was quick and easy to communicate with. Would recommend this place for sure!
Toshio was a thoughtful host and the apartment was a fantastic place to stay: spacious, quirky, clean and in an ideal location for exploring the Mission and getting into downtown SF (and back to the airport). The record player was a nice bonus!
Toshio is as perfect a host as you can find. Friendly, easy to communicate with and very accomodating. His apartment is clean, in a great location, and very unique. Highly recommended.
On arriving at the property we found that there were more steps than my 80-year old mother-in-law could handle. Totally our fault for not having checked exactly what was entailed. Also, the apartment is definitely rustic, which was accurately reflected in the photos, but m-i-l had not seen them, and her reaction (added to the many stairs) was not positive. As her state of mind and comfort was paramount, we left immediately. Overall, the apartment seemed quite quaint and is very well located, close to a lot of the Mission atmosphere. Suitable for a younger set of guests, definitely not for someone who has trouble with steps!
Toshio's place is nice and reflect the artistic personality of the owner. At arrival we met with Toshio's friend Leoni and she has very helpful answering all our questions.
The location is very good, there is a bus passing every 5 to 10 minutes that brings you in many places in the city. There are restaurants and mini markets in mission street and you can easily have dinner in this area if you are tired and don't want to go out at night.
Very good place and host especially if you are young and want to experience San Francisco in a different way rather then anonymous hotel!
The apartment was very clean and comfortable. Nice bedding and towels and stuff. I would highlight that the main bed really is just a loft bed; an air mattress was set up in the second room for us because we needed two beds, but somehow I read right past the part in the ad saying the main bed was a loft. Might not be for everyone. But my nephew and I had a great time there-- he was enthralled by the funky decor and paintings and I got to teach him to use a record player, just like those old-timey 20th century people.
Toshio's place was awesome - great location, and everything I needed. Would definitely rent it again if given the chance.
It was a cozy and interesting place, and the location definitely left me with a flavor of the Mission. Toshio was very nice and responsive to my questions, so I'd definitely find a place through him again.
A positive experience! Everything went smoothly communication and coordination-wise. The apartment was charming, the sheets and bathroom were clean.
The place has the perfect location in a great part of SF. It's close to everything and very central and has some really nice boutique stores, local markets and great restaurants!
The apartment was very clean and comfortable and the host was always available.
Toshio and his friend are people responsible, respectful, they left everything in good condition.
I am happy to receive them again anytime.
