I'm a social worker and child advocate. I love both nature and city life. I love art, food, good wine and good company. I am quiet, courteous and generally what I would call a "good person" though I love to raise passions with conversations even about controversial topics, if the air is right for it. I am an honest, open-minded person.
Five things I can't live without are 1) sense of humor 2) positive outlook 3) sense of adventure 4) art and 5) quiet nights.
When I travel, I seek out local life off the beaten path. With regard to boarding, I seek out interesting places to stay whether a hostel, a local b&b or a room in someone's home. I am quiet when appropriate, and always courteous and tidy guest. I respect the property of others and take care to leave the environment as I found it, except for a few dirty towels, of course.
What I hope to have in my hosts is to arrive at their place and see that it matches the description provided. I do not smoke and wish to board in a smoke-free environment. I want the freedom to come and go as I please. I appreciate if my host can provide insider tips on local destinations. So far I have had all positive experiences with private boarders except for one. That boarder did not give clear instructions on how to access the bathrooms once a door separating us from the rest of the house was shut. At 3am, I found myself locked out from the bathroom! I laugh about it now, though at the time it was rather inconvenient.
Do I have a life motto? Hmm... Try it; See what happens.
