My partner and I love to travel whenever we can. We reside in Tucson, AZ. Ruben is a painter and works in the sign industry. I'm a social worker and child advocate. We love both nature and city life. We love art, food, good wine and good company. We are quiet, courteous and generally what I would call "good people" though we love to raise passions with conversations even about controversial topics, if the air is right for it. We are open-minded, non-judgmental people.
Five things we can't live without are 1) sense of humor 2) positive outlook 3) sense of adventure 4) art and 5) quiet nights.
When we travel, we seek out local life off the beaten path. With regard to boarding, we try to seek out interesting places to stay whether a hostel, a local b&b or a room in someone's home. We are quiet when appropriate, and always courteous and tidy guests. We respect the property of others and take care to leave the environment as we found it, except for a few dirty towels, of course.
What we hope to have in our hosts is to arrive at their place and see that it matches the description provided. We do not smoke and wish to board in a smoke-free environment. We want the freedom to come and go as we please. We appreciate if our host can provide insider tips on local destinations. So far we have had all positive experiences with private boarders except for one. That boarder did not give us clear instructions on how to access the bathrooms once a door separating us from the rest of the house was shut. At 3am, we found ourselves locked out from the bathroom! We laugh about it now, though at the time it was rather inconvenient.
Do we have a life motto? Hmm. I'll take the liberty of choosing one for the both of us... live, laugh, love.
