Well I would like to say our recent stay in Napa was very weird. The host immediately tried to get us to pay more to be upgraded to the master bedroom. Not just a little more but double what we already paying. Then we arrived the husband seemed normal and showed us the other rooms which all three seemed relatively equal. But he never said the one we chose with the small half bath was a junior suite. None of the rooms were labeled. So then we arrived the second night and the wife was just hanging out in the kitchen in a red nighty and upon our arrival ran upstairs to the master bedroom. Well we retired shortly after the brief encounter and my friends went upstairs. Later that night my friends took a jacuzzi and we all went to bed. The next morning we went downstairs and the hostess was trying to say my friends left the cover off the spa and that they failed to shower prior to using it. Weird especially since the cover had been replaced and my friends work with celebrities on daily basis and have high standards of hygiene. Then the lady tried to tell me that unless I paid her these extra fees for the room and the spa that I couldn't have my belongings out of the fridge. I chuckled and I grabbed my belonging's and left promising to never return to their beautiful miss managed property. I think the people are a terrible representation of Airbnb and it would be in your best interest to revoke their right to use your services.
Eve's home is extemely well located for Napa wineries and downtown Napa is conveneintly close by. The house is very comfortable and the yard is definetely the highlight of the property. We (3 couples) spent most of our time relaxing and eating outside while enjoying the tennis court, jacuzzi, pool, bbq and multiple lounging/patio areas. Unfortunately the jacuzzi didn't work exceptionally well as it didn't heat up enough but it was still ok enough to use.
We did not meet the onwer Eve since she wasn't staying in the house during our stay but she made it easy enough to locate key, gave us sufficient instructions for all aspects of the house and was very responsive to our communications.
I would stay here again if my travels took me back to Napa and highly recommend the house whether you are renting a room or the entire house.
The house was very spacious and pretty. Our hosts were very gracious and even setup breakfast for us, which was quite sweet of them. We stayed in the master suite which was nice, though it would have been great if the jacuzzi attached to the suite worked.
Rick and Eve were fabulous hosts -- easy going, flexible, and very generous. Their home is in a picturesque setting and is immaculate. When I botched the check-in time, they were extremely kind. The bedrooms and bathrooms are both comfortable and very clean. The kitchen/family room is comfy and boasted a roaring fire upon our arrival after a rainy day of wine tasting! In the morning, Eve and Rick provided us with a lovely breakfast of fruit, coffee, and bagels. Such a treat! We would definitely stay here again and if the occasion called for it, rent out the whole house. With a backyard like Rick and Eve's, it would be a summer paradise!
The hosts of this property were nice and accommodating and it shows that they take great care of this luxurious and expansive property. They provided coffee, some sweet rolls, fruit and yogurt for breakfast too. Eve was very accommodating with our late arrival. Thank you for that.
We were told that we were first guests to rent a "room" in the property; normally the entire house is rented. The room that we were assigned had a 1/2 bath attached to it and directly across the hall, a full bathroom. It pains me to say it, but neither were particularly clean. My wife spent some time cleaning ours to feel comfortable using it. Despite there being at least three full bathrooms in the house, when we went to use the shower, we found ourselves sharing the bathroom with our hosts. Normally this would not have been an issue but the house is quite large and we and the hosts were the only ones in it. The fact that our bedroom was next to theirs and we were sharing a bathroom just seemed a bit odd. Also, there was no lock at the door that would have allowed us to lock our room. Thus, we didn't feel like we had a lot of privacy.
All in all I think that this is a nice property: it has a swimming pool, a hot tub and even a tennis court. The kitchen is big and there is a lot of space to hangout and relax. It would certainly be a great place to rent as a group when you occupy the entire house. With a tweak here and there, I believe that it has great potential too for folks renting a room for the night.
Great guests! Thanks for the feedback and look forward to actually meeting and visiting you in Napa!
Rick and Eveline were terrific guests! They were pleasant to be with, respectful of my little apartment space, and genuinely nice people. They even invited me out for a sunset happy hour and appetizers one evening which i thought was a nice gesture. They are considering another Big Island visit soon and inquired about staying with me again and I will happily accomodate them!
