Die Gegend liegt recht weit außerhalb. Man benötigt also einen Roller.
Unfortunately we only spend two Nights here!
The Bungalow is amazing and really clean! The breakfast is really good, too and the staff is friendly!
We can highly recommend the restaurant next to the mandala! Everything was good !
It was a nice room with amazing breakfast! The best part about this stay was the food. The rooms were quite nice with a view of the sea in the distance. The room will not be a good idea if you do not have a taxi or scooter to go about. Also, we did not get a room shown in the picture. We would have preferred a little more well kept room. Other than that, the host was extremely nice and friendly.
Our accommodation at Mandala bungalow was nice, the breakfast included was very good and healthy. The staff were friendly. Our only downfall would have been the noise, there was construction going on, which I'm sure will be over soon, aside from that it was great.
Mandala Bungalow is a super beautiful little village, unfortunately somewhere in nowhere. You are a bit lost without a scooter/ driver. Though, the bungalow is just so beautiful and the food in the very close smoothie shop is very delicious! For somebody who wants to enjoy nature and lonliness its the place to stay!
Absolutely disappointing! First of all we are not the type of people who complain about every little problem but this time we need to give our honest opinion about Mandala Bungalows to inform others before they book here. First of all, we booked seven nights- only because we got offered a good deal, but on arriving we were completely confused about this booking. 1) One review says quiet and tranquil but in actual fact the resort sits on a very noisy and busy road where cars and motorbikes pass often - even all through the night. The resort is also in a residential area and therefore there are motorbikes driving up and around the resort sometimes right past the bungalow and random time in the night. Sometimes even at 3 or 4 in the morning. We had lots of trouble sleeping. 2) When we arrived at the resort we were shown to our room at a fast pace and then without an explanation or overview of the resort everyone disappeared and were not to be found (office time was suddenly changed from 8pm to 7pm as we arrived). So basically we were not aware they had no restaurant in the evening, how we should obtain hot water for our baby boy or where we could go and eat that evening. 3) Half of the lights we not on throughout the resort as we were the only guests, so maybe they didn’t bother. We found the premises dangerous at night especially if you have a baby and when it rains everything is very steep and slippery. We nearly fell over with our baby a few times and we mentioned before that we were coming with a baby boy and felt they should have informed us of the condition the resort was in and they should have said: not a good place to come with baby instead of offering a discount to attract us no matter what...4) Wifi was very weak and inconsistent and even in the common area. 5) Mosquitos!!! Stagnant water all over allowing mosquitos to breed and we were unable to sit in the common area at night for long periods as we were attacked from all angles. Two night stuck under mosquito nets in the room were our only option. 6) The so called beautiful garden was in a run down state. 7) The kitchen was filthy. Mouldy fungus on the fridges and the food was terrible. Nothing was fresh and we were given smoothies that tasted like water, bread that seemed to be 2 or 3 months (URL HIDDEN) breakfast, my bread was like a rock and when I searched for someone to receive a new piece of bread, there was no one to be found. 8) Staff were not very helpful and not always there. In addition our baby boy got sick and we choose to leave after two nights as it was not a safe place with a baby. We asked kindly for a refund because...
We loved our stay at Mandala. We stayed for 2 nights as an easy transition for our arrival into Bali. We arrived at the airport st 2.00 am and our friendly driver spoke good English and was very helpful. The bungalow is beautifully designed, very spacious, with lovely views. We enjoyed the breakfast in the garden cafe and library, and especially enjoyed daily meals and treats at the smoothie shop which is part of the complex. Communication with Kim was easy and she was very helpful. I highly recommend staying at Mandala if you plan to stay in south Bali.
Very beautiful bungalow, tastefully and authentically decorated. I loved the bathroom. Nice touch to have lots of drinking water in the bungalow, definitely needed to stay hydrated. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful, especially Ketut. It was lovely to have breakfast included and available at any time of the day, very useful for jet-lagged travellers! The location was a bit lost, definitely need at least a bike, preferably a motorbike, to get around, it's not possible to get anywhere by foot. By the end of my entire stay of 2 weeks in Bali, I would have been comfortable enough to rent a bike and do this, but unfortunately, in the beginning (and during my entire stay here), I had to rely mostly on taxis and motorbike taxis to get around, which made the stay somewhat restrictive. I would say that for the brave who are ready to launch directly into getting a motorbike to get around, it's a great place to stay; probably not so much for the fainter hearted... Another thing to point out is that it can be very noisy at night for light sleepers, frogs and crickets are awake from sunset and when they finally get to sleep, the roosters wake up (way before sunset!) and ironically, quiet down only during the day. There was also a loud techno dance party across the street on 2 of the nights that we stayed there, which was also pretty annoying, even though they quieted down by midnight...
Kim is a beam of light and a true inspiration! Not only is she full of positive energy and kindness, she is mature and respectful of others. She has some fascinating stories to tell too. We couldn't recommend her strongly enough! if you are considering hosting her at your place - and if you are looking for a place to stay, we couldn't imagine a more perfect hostess!
Mandala Bali Bungalow is a very peaceful place with calm surrounding, comfortable accommodation, beautiful garden and delicious healthy food!
And I love this area...Next time I want to stay there at least 5 days for long weekend!!!
Kim is the most creative girl , her place looks like this too. it is beautifully painted , the rooms nicely decorated and Kim loves her garden.
She plants flowers , fruit and veggies all around the sea view bungalows ,
and in her little cafe you can order delicious salads, healthy sandwiches and tropical fruit juices , homegrown with love :)
Kim's place is gorgeous, I suggest it for who ever wants to stay in a beautiful relaxing, inspiring place, surrounded by nature and in a beautiful area of south Bali! The beach is close and there is no traffic!
