Chloe is a very nice owner. She quickly responded to all my questions. And her place is amazing, it is located in the city center, good view, near from the station. I highly recommend her place. Thank you!
I had such a great experience in this apartment. I was here for a few days to attend a conference at the downtown site of the University of Amsterdam, and this apartment was right down the street. For seeing the city in general, the location was also ideal in that way. The hosts were totally friendly and helpful. The apartment was beautiful and the guest room was great--clean and comfortable with an interesting view out the huge windows. As others said, there are quite a few stairs that need climbing but I didn't at all find it a problem. If climbing stairs poses a problem, though, it's worth knowing. Thanks for such a great time!
Great place, location is perfect and the view from the room is worth way more than the price paid. Very clean and airy room that gets great sunlight, always nice to wake up with the sun instead of an alarm clock. Had just quick interactions with Chloe as I was in a hurry either on my way in or out. Very accommodating and a great place to stay, will definitely consider in the future. Thanks again!
I rented this room for a week of work in Amsterdam. First of all, the apartment is so fantastically central, you can do just about everything by walking! When I arrived there, Chloe's boyfriend welcomed me very warmly and they both are very friendly, giving you nice advice about town if you need it (be sure to visit 'De Laatste Kruimel', it's amazing!) and being nice company the times I met them, which unfortunately was not very often because of my and their work schedule.
The apartment is very clean and overall a nice place to stay and very comfortable, with a good bed and shower. From the living room you get a nice view of what's going on down in the street, which is in the middle of the red light district. It can be quite noisy with the windows open, with lots of people in the streets and the bell chimes of the nearby church on the other side. With the windows closed at night this is no problem though. The bedroom is cool enough during summer nights.
The big glass windows allow you a fantastic view over the city rooftops. I tended to wake up quite early because of the daylight, which is very nice if you like that. As Chloe writes herself, if you are a light sleeper this probably isn't for you as the curtains won't block all light. Sometimes I'd have liked to have slept a little longer because of later evenings.
All in all I found it a pleasure to stay in the appartment. It was a nice coming 'home' during a heavy work week. You get all the privacy you need and won't be disturbed in the half-open bedroom.
If they'd have me I'd definately stay there again. Thanks a lot, Chloe and Diederick!
I had a great time at Chloe's place in Amsterdam. It's right in the heart of De Wallen near the Oude Kerk and the Nieuwmarkt. Despite being right in the heart of town, noise from the canal level doesn't reach all the way up to the top floor, so its easy to get some sleep if you want. Being that one wall of the room is a window, it can get a little warm in the middle of the day, but there's usually enough of a breeze that opening a window cools it off. The glass wall also means it can get bright early in the morning, but it's not that bad.
I only stayed a short while in this room, mainly because my brother & family had rented a roomy houseboat nearby. Chloe and her boyfriend were very friendly, and the apartment has the feel of an intelligent, cultivated couple.
The description is correct and will certainly provide the "real Amsterdam" experience to anyone who stays there. I'd only add a couple cautions – you have to climb a LOT of stairs to reach the unit – which is at the very top of the building – so if you're not up for that, think twice. The bright side is that the room offers great views across the rooftops of central Amsterdam. I was amused to see a cat scampering across the balconies and rooftop of a neighboring building.
There's also a church tower close by, so you'll need to enjoy the chimes. I found them pleasant, if a bit loud.
The other aspect is that this apartment is smack-dab in the historic red light district. Depending on your tastes, this may be delightful or disconcerting. The neighborhood is lively, safe, and convenient to everything in central Amsterdam, but there will be crowds at night. Again, you'll be high enough that the room itself is quiet and peaceful.
Chloe and her boyfriend are exceptional hosts. They're kind, polite, quiet, and respectful of privacy. They run a very tight ship! The place is clean and gorgeous, which unbelievable views of the city and surrounding area. All photos and descriptions of the location are spot on. They not only made my experience in Amsterdam authentic, but one of the better travel memories I've had. If they'll have me, I'll definitely be staying here when I return to AMS. 5 stars!
One of the best AirBnB experiences I had. Chloe's apartment is very close to the Central Station, so very easy to find when arriving from the airport. It is also very close to all major attractions. I walked everywhere from Chloe's, used the tram only once.
The apartment is just like in the photos, it is very very clean. You get your privacy and noone is disturbing you while you are in the room. Very comfortable and clean bed. Fresh towels are also provided.
Yes, it is located in red light district but the room is on the backside, so the noise won't bother you.
If I ever visit Amsterdam again, I would definitely would want to stay in Chloe's apartment again.
Chloe's apartment is located in the heart of Amsterdam, in the Red Light District and very near to the Central Station, to easy to get to. The great thing about the location is how easy it is to reach different sites and attractions, and getting around is convenient and safe.
The flat itself is beautiful and clean - great minimalist style! Because the area is busy in the weekend evenings, it does get noisy though it's not too bad in the room and it's basically just background noise. Waking up to natural light in the room is the perfect way to start the day - especially on gorgeous sunny days as the room affords some very pretty views.
The bed is comfortable, and has a bed warmer (though I didn't need to use it), and more than enough storage space, as well as helpful guides to the city. Chloe was also kind enough to provide towels and offer use of the kitchen. She was also nice enough to cook a great meal for me, and was lovely company!
This was my first Airbnb stay, and I'm very glad to say it was perfect - anytime I'm in Amsterdam, I'd hope to be staying at Chloe's place again!
The room is pretty comfortable and Chloe is very nice and eager to help in whatever necessary. The location of the room is great, pretty close to the action. The street is quite busy, but the room is high enough to be quiet.
Chloe and her sister were fantastic guests. Very polite, understanding a in general just lovely, interesting people whom we had a few chats throughout their stay. Highly recommend :)
Diederick took care of my flat during 4 days! Everything was ok! A pleasure to met him. ;)
Chloé and her companion were very nice guests, with easy communications before and during thier stay. They left the place in perfect order. Recommended.
