Linda is very welcoming and her apartment is very pretty and clean. We stayed with my family for a week and found it to be very well located, with stores nearby to buy groceries and a very convenient subway station a few blocks away.
I never met Linda, but stayed at the apt for 3 nights while I was working in NY. Transportation was within easy walking distance to midtown Manhattan. The apartment was nicely and minimally decorated with a serene vibe. It had a good amount of living space for two people. The bedroom is separated by a curtain from the living room. The bathroom is tiny - not much standing room space, but worked out fine for us. Linda was a good host, and was friendly. If she happens to be busy with work, it might be more challenging to reach her, so try to plan key exchange early as possible. One more thing, this home is in an older building and when the shower is on, whoever may be staying with you will be startled by the cranking noise, but again, older buildings tend to be like that. FYI in case they are sleeping.
It was nice at Lindas place, the apartment is located near the brooklyn Museum and the Prospekt park. She was a great host and super friendly. We found in the flat everything wee need.
Our stay with Linda was great! My husband and I were traveling with our 4 year old for just a couple of days to explore the city before heading to visit family. We felt very comfortable and safe during our stay. We were within walking distance to a great bagel shop, subway to Manhattan, diner, yummy pizza restaurant, and corner grocery store which we visited on the first night to stock the great little kitchen with some snacks and treats. Linda made us feel at home by providing all the essentials. The wifi, Netflix, and Hulu were huge pluses when we arrived the first night worn out from our travels and just wanting to stay in and rest up for the next day in the city. The weather was mild but since the apartment had so many windows we were able to get a great cross breeze that kept the place cool all night. The apartment was clean and tidy, the bed was gloriously comfortable which is a big task for this pregnant woman. It was everything we needed. We would definitely stay again.
Linda's unit worked out great for us. We loved having a kitchen for our stay in Brooklyn. Linda was very helpful and accommodated our odd-hour arrival and departure. The apartment was clean and neat. It was roomy enough for our family of 4. The neighborhood was safe and close to the shops and restaurants of Franklin Ave.
Stephen and I had a nice time staying at Linda's apartment. It was stocked with everything we needed. It's in a great location, with tons to do in the area. It was the perfect place for us while we transitioned to living in Brooklyn. We didn't meet Linda but she was easily reachable via text with any questions we had. If we weren't living in the area already we would stay here again!
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had a great time in NYC and Linda's appartment was just perfect. Very spacious., comfortable and very quiet, with big windows letting in all the great sunshine. It is a perfect oasis away from hustle and hustle of the city. The appartment is very well stocked with plenty closet space.
It is very centrally located. We walked most everywhere.
Will definitely be knocking back on Linda's door when next in NYC.
Overall our stay at Linda's apartment was very enjoyable, and would consider staying again. We never met her in person, but she was responsive to phone calls and text messages throughout our stay. There was a minor snafu of receiving the wrong keys upon arrival, but Linda was able to remedy the situation remotely with some help from the neighbors.
As others have stated, the apartment itself is nice, clean, well furnished and conveniently located in a quiet part of town. Being on the top floor there is no one above, although we could periodically hear the neighbor below when entering/leaving their apartment. There is no elevator so be prepared to haul your luggage up 4 flights of narrow, creaky stairs.
The bed was really comfy, though tall people (over 5' 6") should be mindful not to bump their head on the low hanging chandelier in the bedroom. The bathroom is a bit small but has all the basic amenities including a standing shower.
There is a fireplace, though Linda mentioned she's never used it. The apartment was always warm & cozy despite freezing temperatures outside. It appears the building has a radiant heating system which feeds into in the living room & bedroom spaces. The hallway closet has plenty of hangers and an ironing board.
The kitchen has no microwave, but we never had a need for one. All the other basic kitchen utensils, plates and appliances were available.
