Hello, my name is John and I am a recent transplant to Austin after living my entire life on the east and west coasts.
Good spot to say. Right in the mix on South Congress and very close to downtown. Lots of space available with three separate bedrooms and extra beds. Place was not very clean (bathrooms not cleaned at all, for example) and there is a limited amount of amenities compared to other places I've stayed. Not much of an issue for us since we didn't spend much time in the apartment, but if you're staying there you should be aware of it. John was a good host who was accommodating and responsive. I would consider staying here again if I came back to the area.
This trip was initially booked with another airbnb host and unfortunately they had to cancel 5 days before we were all traveling from out of state for our weekend getaway. John was really helpful, responded to my inquiry quickly and even accommodated our large group last minute. He contacted us daily to make sure we had everything we needed.
The place is a perfect size for a large group. Just keep in mind that it's pretty bare- no extra furnishings besides the air mattresses. I think the bathrooms could have been a little cleaner, but i'm a girl and also ocd. The only other issue we had was our car was towed with the parking permit he gave us! The positive to it was that it was a mistake, definitely not the hosts fault and he reimbursed us for all the extra costs. So, yes it was not fun to wake up to but couldn't ask for a better host!
It was exactly as represented, maybe a little better. Loved the host. John was extremely accomodating. We ended up fitting about 10 people in the house and it was great. He was always there to help throughout the weekend if we needed it, and seemed very concerned that we had an awesome time.
John was very nice & responsive prior to our trip; answering my questions and concerns. The property was recently purchased & the interiors are basic, but the location is fantastic. The complex is mostly inhabited by students or young people; though they're generally a well-heeled lot there were a couple of drunk late night shouting matches -- nothing atypical, but if you have an older traveller with you or have morning plans it may be upsetting / annoying. Perfect for a younger guest looking to have a good time.
It was not very easy to get in touch with John and his friend and they took really longer than they have said they will check in. Everything else was alright.
John and his guests were great, nice, well spoken young men. They booked on the same day as there stay and were quick and conscious of communicating on such short notice. Good People
John and his friend were kind and considerate guests. They are welcome back anytime and I would recommend them to any host.
These guys rule! Great house guests. Left their space super clean and always offered to help out around the house! The project they're engaged in is brilliant - important work/topic. Thanks John/Sam! Come back soon!
John and his classmate were a delight. They were very respectful of us and our pool house. We hardly saw or heard them, and they left the pool exactly as we would hope a guest would. Communication was great.
