Fantastic little apartment in the center of the city, right near the Tirso de Molina metro stop with direct access to the neighborhoods of La Latina, Sol, Malasaña and all other central districts. Highly functional place with full working kitchen as well as laundry equipment. The one potential downside is that the apartment is very dark re: natural light with very few windows - but you should be out enjoying Madrid anyway! Just make sure to set an alarm clock...
Sparkling clean, well appointed (washing machine, all you could want to cook full meals, nice to haves like tin foil, paper towels), convenient (we walked to both Palace and Prado... Steps to metro with links to Atocha renfe trains) and well decorated - tastefully done and as described.
This is perfect for one person or two who are sharing a double bed. This is not suitable for the three or four in the renfe listing.
As others have said, there are no windows. As well the only seating in the apartment (for dining, visiting or reading) are two person leather seats - two of them - comfortable and small.
I would add a built in with a mattress and cushions in the bedroom to serve as a lounging area and as well as a real bed for either two persons who choose not to share the double bed or a third person. We call this couch/bed combination a day bed. The two existing folding cots (which we did not use, not wishing to pay an extra 25 Euros per night) could be removed (one currently resides in the closet or in the room while you use the closet).
My stay here was excellent. The communication was with Susana was very easy and she always responded quickly. Her mother showed me everything the apartment had to offer and even though she didn't speak English I was able to understand what she was trying to tell me. The apartment is lovely and has everything anyone could need for a great stay in Madrid. My friend and I had nothing to complain about except we wish we had more time in Madrid. We highly recommend this apartment.
We stayed at Susana's apartement 5 nights and I would like to say that it was very comfortable! Almost in the centre of Madrid, 5 minutes walk to the central square of city - Puerto del Sol, very close to the commercial centre (shops) and restaurants. Apartement was very clear and we found everything what we needed - iron, teakettle etc... Pilar, Susana's mother, welcomed us at the appointed time and she was very nice. Only one minus from our aspect - there was no window in the bedroom. But anyway we recomend this apartement when visiting Madrid - lovely place) Thank you Susana and Pilar.
Nice apartment in the centre of Madrid, only one minute walk from metro station and five minutes from Sol. There is no window in the bedroom, but thanks to this was very quiet in spite of brisk square and street. All necessary stuff at the kitchen and in the bathroom. And beautiful vintage furniture in hall and bedroom! Apartment was very clean; Pilar was a great host and Susana answered very quickly and explained everything clearly!
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Quiet, charmingly furnished and cosy apartment in a perfect spot of Madrid. It was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. I did not miss anything except perhaps for windows and a view. But then again I was in Madrid in january, so I couldn't leave the frosted glass-doors open. There are no windows in the sleeping room whatsoever, so if you are claustrophobic I would not recommend it. Me myself I slept like a goddess. Susana (and her mother Pilar) were generous and professional hosts.
Very nice appartment and very pleasant staying there, with everything you could need present in the nice, clean, comfortable appartment, which is right on the south edge of the city centre. Highly recommended!
