This was one of my favorite spots ever in NY. The location is perfect. The place was perfect. It is so comfortable and the view is really cool. Leslie is an excellent host. Also, just to add this place is very spacious for a New York location. I will be staying here whenever I can while in NYC. Thank you Leslie.
We can only recommend Leslies place and the kindness of Leslie. The appartment is located perfectly in the heart of NYC. The view from her Livingston is super and the rooftop is a dream. Everything worked out easy and perfect. When we come to the city again I will go there again. All the best
This is my second time returning to Leslie's place
The place is decorated beautifully and is a very relaxing to come back to after The hustle and bustle of the city. The couch is huge . And unlike the picture ,she has a flat screen HDTV The view is pretty epic, I enjoyed my morning coffee on the terrace. There is a separate garment rack where you can hang all your clothes as well as an empty dresser so that you can fully unpack.
The building is so centrally located you can get to anywhere you need from Union Square which is just one block away. Leslie was very, accommodating with my late arrival and departure . The bed might be the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! If you close all the bedroom doors it is completely black and quiet and u may find you've slept all day!
I will definitely be back on my next trip to New York!
Big beautiful apartment in a great location, but best of all Leslie is an amazing host!
Booking: I needed a place on short notice, and Leslie responded extremely quickly and was super friendly. This would be a constant theme throughout my stay.
The area: incredible location a block from union square and close to the east village & gramercy. I think union square is Manhattan's best subway hub - you can get anywhere and back from here. Lots of great restaurants bars and things to do in the surrounding neighborhoods, but also close to everything you need to just live your life (groceries etc).
Access/the building: getting in and out was a cinch, Leslie left her keys for me with the doorman. Building has an elevator, laundry, and is well run.
The apartment: true 1BR with tons of sunlight and a small patio. The decor is super cool. The apartment is neither new or old but everything's in great shape. Also, it doesn't show in the pics but Leslie's upgraded it with a nice flat screen tv and premium cable so it's a great spot to chill out.
The host: great! Leslie is a top 10% host - super responsive, friendly and wants to make sure you have a great stay. I had a few minor issues early on and she consistently went above and beyond to fix them and make sure I was happy. She was also really helpful when I got stranded and needed an extension for a few days.
Bottom line I had a great, relaxing, no-hassle stay in a truly cozy (as in, warm and with a personal touch, not claustrophobic and tiny) apartment in a great location. Hopefully you will too.
Two things to note: this is the host's home too, so if you strongly prefer airbnbs where the host doesn't really live in their place and it's completely empty, this may not be right for you. But Leslie left the place clean and uncluttered and left post-its everywhere so I knew where to store my stuff (lots of space). Another thing to know - the A/C worked well but it was cooling a big space, so if you are staying here in July/August and you like your rooms sub-70, you may be a little warm. I was totally fine though and I'm a Californian :)
Leslie's apartment was perfect. The location was perfect which made it easy to get anywhere in the city. Her building was great with a doorman and elevator and was very clean and quite. Her apartment was the perfect size and fantastically decorated. She was a perfect host and made it so easy to check in and out. I hope next time I am in New York her space is available again!!!
Terrific location, great decor, and delightful host. We loved our stay in Leslie's flat.
Leslie's apartment is wonderful! I stayed for seven nights, and the only difficult part was leaving! It was amazing to have so much natural light in the living area, with big windows and a wide open view (we spent some time just lounging around and enjoying the excellent wifi). But the bedroom is nice and dark for sleeping. The apartment was high enough up to insulate us from the noise of the city, even with one of the windows open at night (well I did hear the odd siren, but it's New York). The building is very quiet, which makes the apartment a beautiful oasis after running around the city all day and evening. We enjoyed morning coffee on her balcony or on the building's lovely rooftop. All of the arrangements with Leslie were smooth and stress-free, and since it was my first Airbnb experience that was important to me. She left us plenty of space for our stuff, which meant we could really settle in. I almost felt like a real New Yorker ;) And, as most of the reviews mention, the apartment is in the perfect location. You can get anywhere in the city, including Brooklyn, very easily, but there are also so many great places right in the neighbourhood. I've usually stayed in Midtown and I much preferred this. Not that there aren't lots of people and tourists everywhere in NYC, but this has much more of a neighbourhood vibe and it was much easier to find great restaurants without ending up in tourist traps. If you're a coffee fiend like me, there are lots of great spots within a short walk - I didn't end up in Starbucks even once! And you really need to try a slice of Joe's Pizza - well, I may have stopped in there twice...
Leslie's place was clean and beautiful. The Moroccan-themed apartment takes you to a different world. It's centrally-located to everything and just a short block away from Union Square! Duane Reade, Whole Foods, and dry cleaners are just around corner. She has a nice flat screen with HBO--we didn't have to miss our favorite show, Game of Thrones, while we're traveling! The building's quiet and the doormen are all very friendly. It's truly an oasis. We also didn't have any problem communicating with Leslie when we needed something. She responded very quickly and answered any questions we had. Would love to stay at her place again!
I stayed at Leslie's place for four nights and had an exceptional experience. Leslie's place is cozy and colorful and is located in a fantastic spot, with everything within walking distance; subways, Union Square, the East-Village and many great food locations.
The booking process and check in / check out were really smooth and easy. Leslie really wanted me to feel welcome –and I did! Highly recommended.
Great location and beautiful apartment. The apartment was very clean and had a very homely feel. The private terrace was awesome! Leslie replied very quickly to address any queries and provided lots of helpful info. The doorman was very friendly and helpful too. You won't have any complaints if you stay here!
Tracy was a lovely guest. She took good care of everything and left the place in good shape. Great communicater throughout the whole process and a really nice person to deal with. Thanks and I recommend Leslie as a great guest!
Leslie stood a few days in our rental and she was really kind and quiet. She also took good care of the place and took the time to do a little bit of cleaning before leaving.
