Graat, spacious apt. in old building for the money. Clean 3 beds. Parking is available as well. The host was very helpful.
John was helpful and responsive. The house was roomy and clean when we arrived. There is a cool breakfast spot 2 blocks down called Refuge. Get the breakfast sandwich!
The place exactly what I expected. Beds were neat and all amenities provided
A nice guy and helped us a lot. It is worth coming again.
John was very pleasent to work with, even when we decided to leave the apartment after only a couple of days as opposed to the 6 which were book.
The apartment however left a lot to be desired. It was priced on the low side, so it isn't fair to have high expectations, but in terms of a comfortable place to stay it didn't work for us. The room sizes meant only one was big enough to be useable, as the other is barely bigger than the single bed in it. The shades let too much light in to be sleep-able, and the overall feel was very run down. I'm guessing the place has been primarily used as student housing....and it felt like it hadn't had much love in a lot of years.
If you like AirBnB because places feel "homey" and not like a hotel, then this one isn't for you - it feels much more like low-end hostel and far below hotel grade...and thus even further below feeling like a "home".
We stayed in this apartment for 10 days. At the beginning everything seemed good, the place is, more or less, as the pictures show. But, i have to say, there wasn't any television in the living room. There are some very big rooms, so it was a little bit chilly, but we asked to john something to heat the place and he gave us. We also asked for a dryer which he gave us the same evening. As you can see, he is a very nice person. Unfortunately, we can't say the same for the little mices who live in the house. We found out just 2 night before leaving, Jhon put two traps and the next morning we found one dead next to the kitchen. We have pictures of this mices walking on the kitchen, next to the sink and ect.
I am sorry to tell you such a bad comment about this house, but because i use this website so often i prefer to let you know the truth. I hope in a vice versa.
Overall, we found the listing okay, minus a few details. We found the temperature a little too cold for our comfort at first, but John was quick to address it for us with a space heater. The TV was missing from the listing, since the one in our listing was temporarily broken. Other than that, John was prompt to accommodate us during our stay.
John was just what we needed, available and convenient (he works nearby and lives upstairs) but doesn't bother you if you'd rather be left alone. The area seems nice and cute, and it is easy to get downtown on the bus or T. The apartment was a tad cold, but there were nice blankets available. There were towels, but no shampoo or soap, so be sure to bring with you.
Great and convenient place to stay
The apartment was nice and clean. John waited for us until we arrived to give us the keys. The neighborhood is quite nice and there are a lot of shops, bars and stores around the corner. There is a good connection to the city with the Green Line of the Metro.
John & friend were a pleasure to host. An old pro @ airbnb being a host himself. Intelligent, confident and self motivated. No hesitations hosting again in the future.
