I'm in my mid-50's, and am a vegetarian non-smoker. I can NOT live without yarn and knitting needles. Oh, and dark chocolate. I'm a freelance graphic designer and fiber artist.
My tiny farm is on 2 acres right outside of the historic spa destination of Berkeley Springs. We have five cats and one dog, but they are not allowed in the guest bedrooms (though occasionally they will sneak in).
Yarn! Handspun, handdyed yarns plus a sprinkling of commercial yarns, all in lush, natural fibers from wool to alpaca, cotton to silk and more. I have a selection of straight needles as well. Handdyed and natural colored rovings, drop spindles, private instruction.
What it's like to stay here: you'll get total privacy if you want it, or lots of conversation if that's your preference! The house is heated with wood, and it's very cozy in the winter. Fall is a great time to visit our area, but in any season there will be something going on, from our Festival of the Waters/International Water Tasting event in February to other annual events such as the Hey Girlfriend Weekend, Apple Butter Festival, and much more! I have lots of info about the town, so just ask.
My outlook in general is "Life is too short to be taken seriously".
