I am a 37 year old single woman with two homes, one in Chicago and one in NYC. When I am not at one, I rent the other out. I work in the finance industry and love to travel.
I enjoyed staying here. Both Amy and Marlon were quick to respond to any questions and provide assistance as needed. The location is wonderful - so many shops, restaurants, bakeries, etc. are all around. If you are so inclined, you can easily line up for the world famous cronut at the original bakery just around the corner. I felt very safe on the street and within the building. The building is older with some quirks that come with that territory such as tilted floors. Didn't matter; the apartment is comfortable and quiet and works well for a jumping off point into the city.
Excellent apartment with a faded charm. We had a fantastic week in SoHo, location was perfect for us. Many restaurants and small shops in the area.
Location was quiet and peaceful, very good double bed, fresh towels. Cooking equipment was a little shaky, but there was a Nespresso machine that made life good
Overall we had a great time at Amy's apartment. I have no idea if there really is an Amy, we dealt with Marlon, who "manages" the apartment for "her". However, the apartment is quite real, and situated in Soho in the middle of everything, it appears to be an actual person's apartment. Walking distance to many of our favorite places: cornelia st. cafe, film forum, houston hall, cronuts (if you want to wait in line), famous bens best sicilian pizza ever, vesuvio bakery (now birdbath - pretzel croissants, what??!!!!11), piccola cucina, etc etc.
I will give a few details here but I don't mean to be negative. This is a real place located in Soho, so if you're planning a nice week in the city, you should be prepared. No place you stay will be much better. This is not a hotel, its a very very small apartment. Overall the entire place is the size of a room in a normal house, and is split into a bathroom, a kitchen/living room, and a bedroom. There is no door to the bedroom, just a doorway. You will host no partys here, consider Soho your living room.
The apt. is quiet and removed from the street. The walls in the bedroom are thin, you can hear the TV in the next apt., though they were quiet by 11. We had a "sleep machine" for white noise to cover any noises anyway (highly recommended for stays in any city).
On the third night we heard a mouse in the kitchen. It ran away through a hole in the floor, which we plugged with steel wool from a kitchen drawer. We didn't see it again.
The bed is full sized, not queen. Its firm with lots of pillows and a memory foam layer. It was comfortable. The shower is wonderful but you can't change the position, stick the curtain to the tile wall in back or the water gets everywhere.
Kitchen is microscopic, but functional, the usual for Manhattan. We donated a few Nespresso pods from the boutique a few blocks away as well as having some. The wifi was good, not great but supported six devices with two going pretty much nonstop & vpns.
If you like coffee each morning and want a more social experience then we recommend Fair Folks and a goat - 3 blocks away. Pay $25 for a month membership and enjoy all the coffee and wifi and chill out with NYU students.
The worst thing about the apartment is the smell. We sprayed, burned candles, kept windows open (when we were there), but the place just doesn't smell good. it was tolerable, in the end, but not a plus. We didn't spend much time there awake, so in the end this was a thumbs up.
Soho drem has the perfect location! There is a small grocery store, liquor store, pizzeria and restaurants just around the corner. A short walk away are both metro and great shopping in Soho. Many attractions such as ground zero, wall st, little italy, Chinatown and washington square park is within walking distance. The apartment looks like in the pictures and is perfect for a couple. All contact with Amy went well and the key deliver and return resolved in the best way. It's easy to turn off the radiator if it gets too hot, and even the gas to the stove can easily be turned off. Internet worked fine and there was fresh linen and towels. We are very pleased with our new york trip and would recommend Soho dream! We would also like to thank Amy for the quick response both email and telephone and, not least, for letting us use her apartment!
Perfect located, nice Apart. I would return again. Thanks Amy!
Amy was a fantastic host. Great location and apartment was as advertised. Would be more than happy to stay there again.
We stayed at Amy's apartment in October 2013. The apartment was fantastic, as per the description and photos and all pre arrival communication was prompt and informative. Upon arrival Marlon was there to greet us and hand over the keys- all went very smoothly. The apartment itself is in a perfect location for exploring NYC, very central with easy access to everywhere & everything you need (including subway, great bars & restaurants). This was perfect for us as we barely spent any time at home. The apartment is on the small size and bed quite hard but if you are looking for a central place to base yourself to go out and explore then I can't recommend this apartment highly enough. Thanks Amy, an excellent place to stay for exploring NYC!!
Soho Dream is in perfect location. Communication with Marlon was great, easy check in and out. Apartment has all what we needed, but could have a little renovation. I could stay there again.
Apt is close to the center,in a perfect position..it has all but necessity a modernize.
At this price for me is a good offer.check in is simple,wi fi is ok and all is as the description
Soho Dream is perfectly located, surrounded by lots of shops and restaurants in a wonderful neighborhood. Surprisingly the building is very calm, we didn’t hear any noises at all at night, it’s perfect to sleep and as a nice shower.. The subway is really close in Spring St.
In general the apartment looks a little bit older than it appeared in the photos and it had a bit of a gas smell…
Overall it’s a great place to stay in a wonderful city, and I would definitely return!
Amy was pleasure to host. She communicated well regarding important aspects of her travel plans and conscientious and easy going. Although we never met in-person all of her communications were friendly. We'd welcome her back again anytime.
Amy had a short stay and everything went smoothly.
