Lots of fun with a young international crowd. Be prepared for late nights and lots of fun
The space and campgroud was pretty much as advertised, and the bed was comfortable, but the raw sewage stench everywhere and constantly flooded bathrooms were absolutely disgusting.
We stayed for one night at the Wiesn Loft and we were satisfied:
- Great price
- The room was clean, secure and the bed was very comfortable
- The party tent was lots of fun and they had great beer and food
- The management was top notch and friendly
- The breakfast was good
- The community bathrooms were very filthy
- The room was too cold at night
- Location a bit far from the Oktoberfest
Overall, I would recommend this place as a last resort if you can't find a better place in München. Otherwise, I would spend a bit more and stay closer to the city and somewhere with cleaner bathrooms.
Location is suboptimal. the site is very close to an S-bahn station, which is good, but the S-bahn only comes every 20 minutes when it's off-peak hours, which is inconvenient. A Taxi from the city center costs about 25 euro, one-way. Also, the Wies'n'Loft site is pretty much the exact same site as the Wies'n'Camp site (not next to it or separated from it at all). This means that in order to get to your "loft," you will have to often climb through a crowd of drunken teenagers. There is also a party tent that pumps out loud, cheesy pop music late into then night. Having said all of that, the units themselves are very clean and comfortable, and even have space heaters, towels, and fresh sheets provided, which was very nice. the shared bathroom facilities were also remarkably clean, considering it was a glorified campsite.
The wiesn camp lofts themselves were decent - however, the pictures and descriptions make them look way more glamorous than they actually were! The actual container had a comfortable bed and was a place to put our stuff which was all we really needed. However, our stay was quite unpleasant due to the disgusting shower and bathroom blocks. The showers were flooded and dirty the entire time we were there. We literally could not take a shower for the 3 days we stayed there because the showers were blocked/flooded. The one time we tried to take a shower, the water was ICE cold. The toilets were also extremely dirty, blocked and overflowing. This made our stay extremely unpleasant especially considering how much we paid for this. It is unfortunate since this was our first experience with airbnb. The other downfall was that the cabins actually house 2 rooms only separated by a tiny thin wall - this means you can hear and feel everything going on in the room behind you - doors slamming, floor moving, drunken late night talking, the whole nineyards. The camp was also very loud until early hours of the morning because of the bar/party area but obviously that was to be expected at oktoberfest. Overall, the cabin was okay but the experience was ruined because of the lack of clean and working bathroom facilities. I wouldn't recommend this unless you don't mind not showering for your entire stay!
Staying in the Wiesn Lofts for Oktoberfest was great. The location was reasonably close and the camp was very well constructed. The facilities were plenty clean and nice for a camp. The party tent was a lot of fun as well. Would definitely stay again!
This was perfect in location, accommodations, and community. I loved also having the opportunity to meet other people from the camp in the party tent. I loved staying here for Oktoberfest!
Danke!
Eva is such a fun-loving and helpful friend! She definitely knows how to make sure everyone is always smiling and having a great time. She is a proud Bavarian that's a huge fan of the Oktoberfest. This will be evident when you meet her :)
