We were happy to find this double apartment near Rialto Mercato during carnival. Good location and accomodant host!
Andrea was a great, welcoming host - we communicated well before arriving and he met us at the flat after our arrival, showed us how everything worked and gave us some tips for places to eat and things to see. He also invited us to contact him if we had trouble with anything (which we didn't). The flat is simple, functional and was just what we needed for a weekend visit, with a spacious kitchen and ample seating area (very social). It comfortably slept all 8 of us - we would recommend this flat to anyone travelling in a big group like ours! The neighbourhood is pleasant, and conveniently close to San Marco (15 mins) and other major attractions on foot. Great value for money!
Clean, Good location and all we needed for our 2 nights in Venezia.
Check-in and out went fluently.
Would recommend it to anybody looking for a place from where to enjoy venice.
I spent just over 5 weeks at Ca'Melusina, including Christmas, New Year's, and the month of January, 2015. It's hard to express what a wonderful trip this has been--Venice in January is exactly what I'd hoped. Beautiful, peaceful, empty, (website hidden)'Melusina is large, masculine, rustic, roomy, warm, comfortable, and quiet! It's the third stop on the Alilaguna from the airport, on the Ospedale--this stop will get you everywhere, the cemetery at San Michele, Murano, the outer islands, the train station, or transfer at San Zaccaro to catch a boat to Isola di San Lazaro to see the Armenian monks, where Lord Byron lived for a (website hidden)'Melusina is also a very short walk from the local coop grocery, 2 caffés downstairs, a bakery, 2 pizzerias, 2 fantastic restaurants (Alla Strega and 6342 a le Tole--the best pasta on the island!), a chocolate shop, a gelateria and 2 more caffés/restaurant/bars in campo San Giovanni e Paolo. Walk everywhere, and everywhere is close. My favorite walks were through Campo Santa Maria Formosa, into Campo San Zaccaro and out to see San Giorgio over a row of bobbling gondolas across the bay. It's a wonderful walk into Campo San Stefano for a coffee at Caffé Molinare, and on to Punte della Academia, or into the Dorsoduro to visit Peggy Guggenheim's collection. I loved pushing on to Chiesa di San Sebastiano, and cutting over to walk the long way back, staring across to the Giudecca where you'll find a plaque for the poet Josef Brodsky, before stopping at Punto della Dogana and the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute. You should plan walking most of your day, and you should look forward to finding yourself lost, and this is part of the great joy that is Venice. If you give yourself to it, you're sure to find a caffé, a church, a museum gallery, or a small restaurant that surprises you and that will live in your memory. This is a city of spectacular reflections, magnificent vistas, centuries crumbling around you, and the bells--the bells! Even the gray days are gorgeous cold, the water green and bronze. The locals are friendly, hard-working, and love to have a conversation--nearly everyone is multi-lingual and will switch languages mid-sentence to accommodate a stranger. They love to stand outside a caffé and talk over a glass of wine and some cicchetti in the evening, and on Sundays it's worth it to sit outside and just watch the promenade of the quietly stylish. It seems that everyone here has a sense of beauty. In Ca'Melusina the Wifi is strong. The heat is wonderful making the flat is cozy in winter. The large table and kitchen make for fantastic meals at home, and a peaceful place to relax and read. The bed is fantastic, and after a day of walking it is a great relief to be so comfortable. Stay here. You will not be disappointed. I could not have been more happy and cannot wait to stay with Andrea...
We had a wonderful time in Venise, it was really easy to find the appartment thanks to Andrea guidelines and easy to get the keys. The flat is very nice with a lovely garden, a bite dark because a bite underground but really cosy and practical. When we had questions, Andrea was really reactive to answer to us. The area is lovely, not touristic at all, but close to San Marco and Rialto. To arrive from the airport or to leave to the airport, it was really practical as well with the boat.
Thanks a lot !!!
Really relaxing trip, great neighbourhood, helpful host!
Great central location, spontanious friendly and helpfull host. Not all mattresses were comfortable and the place was quite cold but maybe we couldn't figure out how to make the hearing work properly
