Rafael was a great host. She was very friendly and showed me around the building premises on arrival. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. It is also in an awesome location, right next to the Bay Bridge and walking distance from downtown. Great experience overall.

Sana's Apartment is a great location, views to 'die for'. Handy to Bart, waterfront and easy to get to from the airport.
Unfortunately I don't think the apartment is cleaned before use and we found all the linen to be used and the bathroom needed to be cleaned. However a quick e mail and everything was sorted, although we cleaned ourselves. Some glasses for water/wine and a kettle to make tea/coffee would useful. For location it is wonderful
My overall experience with Sun is pretty good. I really like the location. The only thing that I wan't too fond of, which was the check-in process - there was some sort of a misunderstanding when I went to pick up the key to the apartment. Other than that, it's great.
The apartment was perfect! I was in the area for the San Francisco Marathon as well as a bit of sightseeing while I was not running. Sun was very accommodating and easy to communicate with, and everything went very smoothly.
As for the apartment, it is steps away from the Embarcadero and walking distance from a lot of things to see and do in the city. It also has a phenomenal view – the description does not do the view justice. You can see everything from Alcatraz to the Bay Bridge. Likewise, it is PERFECT for anyone running a big race in San Francisco that starts/finishes near the Embarcadero. I could literally see my start corral and the finish line from the apartment’s balcony. Simply incredible!
Sana was a great and accommodating host and also very flexible with check-in and check-out times. The apartment is in a fantastic location and the Bay view is stunning!

My family of 4 was staying at Sana's apt for 3 nights during our trip to California at the beginning of Jan 2012. We had a rental car. Parking around the building is free from 6pm until 7 am, but watch for street cleaning signs, you will need to alternate sides of the street every night to avoid a fine. We had city passes and could use public transportation for free (included). We parked the car during day near Bay and Embarcadero ($12 for 12 hrs if parked before 9am).
We chose the apartment because of location, price (under $100) and kitchen we could use for cooking. Some grocery store is at the corner of the building, a bigger one is a few blocks away (open 6am to 9pm).
Location is perfect, quiet and safe, views are great, furniture is very limited, we had to stand to eat. We were provided with a laundry room card, so we could wash towels. It was unpleasant to see somebody's hair in bathroom, so we had to clean it. Otherwise, it was a good stay, good value for the paid money.
Sana's apartment :
- great located,
- secure neighborhood,
- awesome view,
I would definitely recommend!
The view from the apartment windows is amazing, and the apartment is well taken care of, on the surface, but there were a few things that I think should be considered for future guests.
One, it does not seem that the apartment has a cleaning service or that the host comes by and cleans after each stay. I found that there was hair on the floor of the bathroom and that towels were left on the kitchen floor in a pile, with a note saying that these were used towels from previous guests.
The place looks like people left in a hurry, with no care taken to make the bed, or to display towels or other homey kind of things in an order that says, "Welcome, we've been expecting you."
I think little things like that take away from the home-like feeling one might desire in a stay at someone's apartment.
The building is being renovated, so the lobby looks like a place under construction.
On the positive: wi-fi connection is solid, and the room is comfortable. It's a great apartment to work from, and to spend the night in. It's safe. The part of the city that it's located in is clean, well-lit at night and very close to BART, which can take you anywhere in San Francisco in minutes.
There is a great Mexican restaurant, Mexican DF, right around the corner.
Sana and Ray were wonderful guests! Kind, courteous, interested and interesting, they brightened up my life on a very cold couple of days in Ottawa and I wished I could have had them over longer! Thank you for the pleasure to meet you, both!
