This is without a doubt one of the coolest places to stay in Bangkok, a spacious and light-filled loft, comfortable and beautifully decorated. It's a great place to get some work done, too, with the energy of all the creative people hard at work downstairs at the gallery seeping up to the loft. It's also a great place to launch all kinds of explorations, up the river (the ferry stop is a two minute walk), on foot through Chinatown's incredible maze of engine part shops, or via a short cab ride to the rest of Bangkok. Thomas is a very friendly and generous host, who wants to make sure his guests have a good time in his adopted city.
Fantastic loft in the heart of Chinatown, great place and they own a great bar too! Definately the place to be in Bangkok!
Fantastic place & fantastic host. Will definitely visit again.
Beautiful light apartment, great space. Pictures probably don't do it justice. Fantastic area, only a smattering of tourists and lots of great street food eateries. You feel more like an expat than a tourist. Apartment has just been featured in a couple of design magazines so pack now while you can still get a reservation.
Thomas was lovely, welcoming ready to offer advice - arrangements faultless - thanks Thomas!
Nice host！This loft is located in downtown area got local neighborhood. We take a boat to asiatique, the pier is 2mins walking distance. Thomas is helpful and nice guy. We didn't find soy sauce kitchen hope can find it next time lol. Thanks for very thing. We had a good time in BKK.
Thomas was a very accommodating host. He met us at a nearby hotel and walked us over to the apartment. He lives in a very local little working class neighborhood of food cart vendors and small shop owners, it was a very real feeling of being in the community of people who give Bangkok so much character. They were very friendly and the neighborhood felt safe. His apartment is above his art gallery and decorated with very cool pop art from his gallery. It was quite comfortable and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and he has a nice spacious kitchen if you want to do some cooking. The apartment has everything you need. We had rented the apartment, because it was close to the Royal Orchard Sheraton, where a job fair we were attending was happening. So, It was more of a work trip for us. The only problem was the little neighborhood was having some kind of festival the three days we were there, and music was being pumped out of huge speakers on the street late into the night. Which made for some tough nights sleeping. Thomas was very apologetic about that, as he wasn't aware it was scheduled to happen. If you are looking for a cool little place to be based out of Bangkok close to the river, in a real community kind of neighborhood in Bangkok, Thomas's place is perfect for that.
Thomas has a very interesting home in the Silom area. Very well designed, very eclectic, and still comfortable. Great airbnb experience. Definitely recommend staying here!
If you're looking for a fun and interesting place to stay, this definitely fits the bill-- it's build over an art gallery, and the place itself has a lot of unique art. The location is also pretty fantastic; Bangkok's Chinatown feels a lot more gritty and authentic than some other districts. Additionally, the proximity of this place to Sheraton Orchid makes it easy to direct taxi/tuk-tuk driver. Though the driver won't know where this place is, they'll know the hotel, which is great when you're having translation issues. It's also conveniently located next to a Family Mart, so you can easily get any water/food you might want.
Thomas was a great and responsive host. He was quick to reply to my messages, and helpfully picked us up from the Sheraton Orchid on arrival very quickly, and gave a great introduction to the area. He also gave a great recommendation where to spend New Years, and provided a helpful guide for Bangkok.
One word of caution (and this applies to pretty much any location you get in Thailand): there are mosquitos, so you'll want to bring some bug spray. They're quite active at night, so you may wake up with bites.
It was like staying in artistic gallery which is very unique experience :) It is just 5 minute walk to ferry so convenient and otherwise, you can take cab or tuktuk waiting in front of sheraton hotel which is also 5 minute walk. Staying in this place makes my bangkok trip much more sensorial and special :)
Thomas is a very friendly French guy with a lot of knowledge on what's cool and happening in Bangkok. His place is fantastic and well designed, practical and totally different from your usual condominium apartment. He will always try to help you out (renting a bicycle for eg.) or give you advices on where to eat, have a drink or see an art exhibition. He may even take you along to some 'off the tourist map' events and places. I totally recommend any visitors to stay at his place or at least to visit his art gallery 'Speedy Grandma'.
