Would rather not live without morning cup of tea, crisp apples, dogs & cats under my hand, natural light, lots of books.
I am a past bakery owner, vet tech, film coordinator, school librarian, and currently work for a non-profit helping people with cancer navigate the medical system to make informed decisions and get the services they need.
I am a native Brooklynite who has lived in the giant redwoods most of my adult life. I work with our local library where I head the book selection committee, have trained my dog to go into our hospital, schools, etc. as a service dog, produced a local film festival for 20-odd yrs, and stand with Women in Black for Peace
My favorite cities are San Francisco and London.
I listen to blues, and acoustic singer/songwriter music, prefer to hear live music at small concerts and folk festivals. I have not had a TV for 40 yrs. but have gotten into HBO series on DVD.
I live with my husband . Steve Antler, a defense attorney, community activist and all around good guy. We have a daughter and 2 grown grandsons in Oakland, and several young kids who we "grandparent" and who teach us about computer games. We have a house in the woods, looking out to the Pacific, where we host many guests - friends, and friends of friends, and sometimes put up musicians from the Mendo Music Festival. We are used to sharing a space. So we are good guests: don't leave our gear in the public spaces, keep a very tidy kitchen, honor the rules of house (can't waste water in Mendocino). Our nephew Alejandro constantly rates the "Jupiter/Antler B&B" as 5 star.
We travel on the simple side - rarely stay in hotels - prefer apartments and being in real neighborhoods.
Life motto: "plant trees" and "always park facing out at a party".
