I am a social person, with a peaceful home. :) I work full-time as a marketing writer/editor/ instructional designer. I have personally traveled (on an extremely tight budget) much of North America for my son's love of hockey (approximately 270,000 hockey miles). I've also traveled extensively for business at several points (so far) in my career. I've experienced limited travels overseas. I look forward to resuming my own travels at some point.
From these travels I've acquired many lessons learned about creating comfortable accommodations! (Such as towel folding! :) )
I have one Belgian sheepdog boy - who also loves to travel, one older German Shepherd girl, one young Aussie Shepherd - who was a rescue from the Arizona desert that we found when traveling - when you meet him, you;ll understand.why we rescued him. :) How could *anyone* say no to his beautiful eyes. Finally we are all family to a mostly outdoor calico cat.). The canines are mostly indoor and the cat is mostly outdoors.
The home now features a fully fenced backyard. I'm working on additional amenities.
Cleanliness is important to me. Your comfort is important to me. I want to provide an experience that is close to "home away from home". My home is non-smoking, as I am allergic.
My neighborhood is in the city, but mostly here you hear birds and crickets. Turbo wireless internet is available. There is an extra fridge and it's a well furnished kitchen. I try to make there's always good coffee. :) Because folks have different dietary preferences, - and to keep the prices modest - one of my questions will be what snacks you prefer- so that I can purchase items that you specifically prefer.
Coffeemakers abound here: A small Keurig, a Tassimo, French Press, stovetop Italian Steamers and several percolators.
A large selection of tea is also available. I have porcelain teapots, stacking Turkish tea brewer, and good old-fashioned mugs for a comforting cup of tea.
When possible, I will bake or cook a meal for you. It may not always be practical with your travels or schedule. Happy to accommodate special dietary needs. Be sure to let me know in advance.
So why do I host on AirBNB? I truly enjoy meeting, hosting and, yes, networking folks Keeping the price modest as a host is also a way to pay it back and pay it forward. We've experiences years of grace where folks have provided accommodations at a reasonable price for hockey travels. Sharing my home also helps me financially help my son with his hockey pursuits. He's a goalie. And is on his last year of junior hockey. When they say that hockey pursuits are a marathon, they tell the truth!
The funds also help me maintain the home. I am humbled and grateful for every booking. Finally, I hope someday to have a real B&B during my retirement years.
Thank you for considering my home for your stay! Cheers!
