I work in European group travel based on the Gold Coast, so travel and the people you meet along the way are as much a lifestyle choice, my day job and then of courses theres airbnb all rolled into one. Good food & wine, art, gardening... Ive got this thing about orchids and now Australian natives I just cant shake, music, literature, history, photography, friends, family and sport, the odd good movie and half a dozen projects on the go simultaneously keep the pace of life frantic at times though endlessly fascinating. I liken being an airbnb host to travelling from the comfort of my own home. It allows me the opportunity to meet and enjoy people from every corner of the globe. The ethos of Airbnb, the cultural enrichment it enables, can honestly say I learn something new and interesting with every guest we've had (now well over 80) hasnt waned and derive a great deal of personal satisfaction in sharing local knowledge and info for visitors in comfortable surroundings to maximise their enjoyment of the best the coast and hinterland has to offer beyond the cliche of Surfers Paradise. The special places you won't find in a guidebook and often as not are just around the corner - it will be my privilege to extend that hospitality and a warm welcome to you.
