Nancy was very quick to respond to my request and was helpful with activity recommendations. The apartment was pretty much as described. It is a nice space for a couple. The only negatives are that there is no freezer (=no ice for drinks), the hot water didn't last long enough for my taste, and the wifi was slow at times. Other things I learned: the coffee shop right down the street, Grounded, is really good. The cab companies are really bad. We rented a car a few miles away, but getting there and back was not fun.
We had a wonderful time at the Gallery Inn. The apartment is beautifully appointed and decorated, and receives plenty of light. It is warm and comforting. The complimentary bottle of wine and nightcap were also very welcome surprise additions. We would love to return again sometime!
Nancy is a perfect host and she has such an amazing space with beautiful furniture and decor. The location is great, which is close by all the cafes, galleries, restaurants, and the waterfront. The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice treat!
Perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city! Great location! Coffee shops, restaurants walking distance...we took our 4 month old and she felt right at home..cozy, clean, beautiful space..can't wait to go back in the spring! And btw coffee was delish!!!
We had a wonderful stay at the Gallery Inn! The apartment is very comfortable, and in a great location. It is within walking distance of some great bars and restaurants, and also provides a good homebase for exploring the Hudson Valley. Nancy was very responsive, and made sure that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We look forward to coming back!
The Gallery Inn was exactly as described and pictured. First off, it was charming - replete with antiques and original artwork from her gallery shows. It was spacious and very tastefully and comfortably furnished - perfect for a family as it has a second bed (a futon) in a cute sleeping nook. The built in cabinetry created by a woodworker friend of Nancy's was gorgeous and made of unstained cherry. The kitchen is beautiful and beckons the guest to cook (though we didn't). The bathroom is extraordinary with a very large shower that boasts 2 heads on opposite sides. A unique sink completes the cool bathroom experience. A bottle of wine awaited us (though we didn't consume it). Nancy is a lovely host and very helpful with queries about the area. My only caveat is that the location (on a main street) is noisy. But all in all a great alternative to a hotel (and much more expensive) experience.
Nancy was a perfect host, and the apartment is great. She made our special weekend even more memorably by dropping off a delicious bottle of prosecco, a very nice gesture.
I can't recommend her spot enough.
Nancy could not have been more kind of accommodating. The place is beautiful, the bed wonderful, and the fresh air on the back porch invigorating. She let us keep our stuff there for a little longer as we took the day exploring different parts of Kingston (which was great, since I had bought some really heavy antiques from the shop down the road - also highly recommended). I loved how the wine shop told me about the antique shop, and the antique shop talked about how wonderful Nancy was once we told the gentleman where we were staying. All to say, a nice, low key location for a little time away.
(The only downside was the motorcycles - not sure if there was some sort of convention, but it seemed like there were groups of them outside the window over 2-3 hours. Not terrible unless you throw the windows open).
The reservation was canceled 35 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had a great stay here! We met Nancy briefly to get the keys, and she gave us a few restaurant recommendations (the Mexican place she told us about, Mole Mole, just down the street, was delicious!) and we headed on up. When she's not there, she has a lockbox with the keys in it, so it's OK to arrive late at night too if needed.
The apartment was really nice, spacious, clean, and comfortable. There was lots of interesting art around (and it's available for sale).
I'd definitely recommend and would stay again. We didn't get to see a whole lot of Kingston, but it seems like a very nice town, and hopefully we can explore it more one day.
