We stayed with Fionnuala for a couple of days during our stay in Dublin. Fionnuala was very helpful in letting us know which buses to take in and out of the city to get back to the apartment. She even made accommodations for us to drop our luggage off since we arrived very early in the morning, which was very helpful. She also offered to get a few things for us at the store for breakfasts and told us were the closest shops/restaurants were located.
The apartment is very close to the city and has public transportation into the heart of the city. Parking is street side if you decide to get a car, although it's not essential if you are staying in the city. It seemed like we weren't going to be able to find any parking, but we always did close to the house. The neighborhood felt safe, and the neighbors were very friendly. Bus stops were 1-2 minutes walk, if that.
The apartment looked liked the photos. It can be a little tight for 3 people, but we managed. For 2 people, this flat would be awesome since it was so close to the city. All amenities were true to description.
Fionnuala was very responsive to any questions we had, and was able to offer any advice on places to see. I would recommend a friend to stay in the basement apartment.
This was my first Air B&B stay and loved it. For half the price of a hotel I got a lovely apartment with a kitchen and sitting room. All was as described. It's 15 minutes from the city which I like as on a quiet road yet has a nice pub, shop and amazing little Italian all 2 minutes away. If you like your craft beer the Brew Dock is on the same main road just over 10 minutes away. Perfect. Would love to come back.
We were made very welcome and she provided some basics for breakfast which was great. Fionnuala even did some washing for us. That was much appreciated as we had been on the road for some days. The area was close to buses but there were not many options close by for eating and drinking.
Was spot on for what we required for our 2 night stay in the city. Would stay again!
Fionnuala was very nice, se also left us some food for the breakfast. I found the place with no problem and the free off street parking is brilliant! The apartment is not very far from the city centre, like 20-30 min walk and a taxi ride can be like 8-10 euros. We did enjoy our stay and we would recommend it, it's definitely a good choice for a budget accommodation in the city!
Un séjour sans souci, quelques conseils sympathiques et surtout très accueillant
Fionnuala made us very welcome, even though we arrived earlier than she expected. She is very kind and cheerful and extremely helpful. She bid us make ourselves at home while she finished getting the place in order.
The neighborhood was nice. The road is quiet, but it is right off a busier street that has places to eat and shop. It is in easy walking distance from the city central and from the river. We had a great time walking both in the immediate neighborhood, and further abroad in Dublin.
Fionnuala is so cheerful and amiable! It was a wonderful stay, and if I come back to Dublin, I'll probably look her up and see if the room is available again.
Our stay at Fionnuala's place was wonderful. The location is convenient; a ten or 15 minute walk to downtown, and there's a grocery store at the end of the block. The space itself is a nice modest basement apartment with everything we needed. There is a bit of noise from upstairs sometimes, but nothing more than you'd get from a typical apartment. Fionnuala is super nice. She showed us around and gave us recommendations for places to eat and drink. Also, I left a pair of jeans after our stay, and Fionnuala kindly left them at the community garden behind her house. When we went to pick them up on our way back through Dublin we got a great tour of the garden by the wonderful people who were tending it. If you stay here you really should go pay the garden a visit. All in all it was a great stay and we'd stay here again.
The flat was exactly what we needed for one night, and close enough to walk downtown. Fionnuala was very kind and helpful, I would always come back for a short stay.
My wife and I stayed at Fionnuala's apartment for 2 days at the end of May, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Fionnuala is the most wonderful host explaining all the ins and outs of Dublin. She introduced us to Batman, her dog; willingly lent us her subway card upon arrival so that we could easily get around (didn't use it as we chose to walk into the Dublin Centrum); dropped us off at our car hire pick up on our last day in Dublin; directed us to the local market; etc. The apartment met all of our expectations and was quite comfortable, and we highly recommend it for those wanting close proximity to Dublin city center. Thank you, Fionnuala, for all of your wonderful hospitality !
