me gusto la casa aunque, posiblemente porque rafael estaba lesionado, necesita un poco más de orden y pequeñas comodidades en las habitaciones. el barrio es bonito, tranquilo y se siente seguro.
Nice host and beautiful house !
Rafael is a GREAT host! He made me feel right at home since day one!
The house is perfect. In a great and safe location in Miraflores. It has a great kitchen, living room, patio, etc. and the bedroom was just amazing with plenty of storage and closet area.
I was able to have some of my friends visit me in the patio area where Rafael treated everyone with respect! He even offered some of his famous SUSHI which my guests just loved.
Overall I give this stay a FIVE Star in quality, price and service!
Rafael was very nice and welcoming. However I would point out a few things about this listing. The posting looks cleaner than it actually is. The room's floor was not very clean, the bed had some hairs and one of the drawers had a sanitary-pad wrapper in it.
Also, you should know that you are sharing the bathroom with at least 4 people, so it also gets pretty dirty.
The house itself if well located, and has enough security to make you feel safe.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This was our last stop on a five month trip through South America before flying home. Since we had been to Lima before we were already familiar with the Miraflores area. Nevertheless Rafael was very welcoming and friendly, and offered directions to get from his house just outside Miraflores to all the popular areas. While the advantage of the location of this guest house was that it was cheaper and quieter, it was definitely far from downtown Miraflores and the coast. Plus it is at least a 45 minute bus ride, without traffic, to the historic downtown. Miraflores was perhaps our favorite section of any South American city, as it was one of the most pleasant and liveliest neighborhoods to wander around. Unfortunately this guesthouse was just a little too far to walk, leaving us with either taking an expensive cab or semi-confusing micro bus. The guesthouse was spacious with a complete kitchen and nice patio out back, and we loved Rafael's small dog "Cholo" who loved being pet and played with. However, we have a few concerns with this place. First, we were surprised to find that when we arrived, at 8pm, our room was not ready. We had to wait an hour for Rafael to call someone to clean the room, while he made comments to us how he "must have overbooked" and "was not expecting us." The house was also not very clean. It wasn't Rafael's fault but more so but a few other messy guests. After five months we aren't surprised by anything but these guests were an exception. They partied late each night, normally no problem with us, but they would come back at 3am yelling and screaming and banging on the walls. Then the next day the bathroom was a mess with vomit all over the toilet and sink. When my girlfriend was in the shower - which had a broken on/off knob and only cold water - the other guests were banging on the locked door and even peaked their heads into our private room as if we were being rude for showering. Not necessarily Rafael's fault, but he should be responsible for making sure guests are reasonably respectful of others and also not leaving bodily functions all over a shared bathroom. The photos are somewhat misleading on this post too, as the room was small, had a shared bathroom, and strange lounge with disco balls, feeling more like a party hostel like other places we've stayed than a quiet guest house to relax before heading home. Overall, this guest house was not a bad deal and in an okay location. We were disappointed though due to the rude and out of line other guests, late check in, and unclean room and bathroom. We wanted to save money using AirBnb and find a quiet place before going home. If we wanted a loud party place, we would've stayed at an actual hostel in Miraflores.
Rafael is a nice person, but unfortunately ges very informal and certainly beeds to improve his hosting skills and be more organized and aware and respect peoples desre to have a quiet area especially after travelling 12 hrs. The house is attractive and in a nice area of miraflores. However if you are looking for an aerea next to the beach this is not ideal, my experience there was the house was very noisy, Rafael hosting a series of events in the evening from meditation singing loud, to an all night party with a group of people who were up all night. At one point i had people trying to get to my room in the middle of the night. Alrhough i was not afraid, i felt extremely uncomfortable with the situation. As regards to house facities, nothing was explained to me so i ended up having cold showers. In all, rafael is a nice person but needs to have more consideration for his guests, i hope this was just a one off!!.
