Hi, I'm Linda.
I'm a Pollyanna at heart who has explored quite a few corners of the world (Chania, Greece being my heart-melter) and enjoyed many an adventure (4x4'ing in Richtersveld, near Namibia for one). I used to be an Intensive Care Nurse but burnt out; however, there was a blessing in that it fanned the flame for me to try other things, and appreciate the fragility and beauty of life.
I probably should have been born in the early 1900's, as I have a deep appreciation for old cars, jewellery, dresses and shoes. However, I'm glad to be here today, for I love heading to thrift shops, estate sales or drive to the top of our majestic Sandia Mountain to go snow shoeing. I love to read and have recently decided to embark on a quest to become more cultured and read literature, starting with Jane Eyre. Seeing a good movie makes me happy too.
My sweet husband Dave is a writer and we love having deep conversations about philosophy, religion, spirituality, politics, books and movies. We met & married later in life, so as two quite different vintage pieces, we are gracefully growing older together.
Last but not least, I adore food. Good, healthy, flavorsome food. I have been vegan for almost 4 years. And I will be an eternal lover of Rooibos. The purer and plainer, the better. Mmmm... A hot cuppa and a good book...
When I travel, I like to try different things, whether it be a destination, a form of accommodation (like a hostel, with my favorite being the once music recording studio of U2), or a type of dish. Most of all, I like to travel light so as to return home with a full and joyfully heavy heart of wonderful experiences.
