We loved staying at Nikki's place in Captiva! It was private and serene with lots of space! Highly recommend it!
Beautiful home, tons of light, matched description perfectly.
A lovely, peaceful, relaxing home, very clean and spacious, perfect for me, my husband and my parents for a Captiva getaway. Loved seeing the manatees everyday and swimming in the sunny pool each day, watching the sun rise from the pier and walking along the beach from the private access. A wonderful home and host!
We (family of 4, two girls aged 4 and 1) had a terrific time at Nikki's house. It perfectly met our needs, from mornings on the dock looking at the dolphins to a five minute walk to a private beach (and by private, I mean private - there was practically no one in a mile in either direction). Afternoon dips in the pool and space to put the kids to sleep while still having access to the living spaces... Nikki's kitchen is very usable and the home was very comfortable. Would have no hesitation at all recommending it to families who want to have a private quiet visit to Captiva - thank you Nikki!
Your description of your hide-a-way home as being peaceful and quiet was so very true. We enjoyed watching the sunrise from your dock each morning along with the playful dolphins, swimming and sitting by the pool during the day, and walking your very private beach. We're also so glad we had a chance to meet you and your mother. Thank you for a most relaxing week.

This was our first experience with Airbnb and our stay at Nikki's beautiful island getaway ensures that it won't be our last. Everything was as described. The house is spacious and unique and filled with quiet, calm and spirituality. It was nice to have the pool to relax in at the end of the day. The bay view is great, whether you're waking up in the upstairs bedroom with the sunrise or spending time on the boat dock enjoying the wildlife. We were also lucky enough to be visited by the manatees. We saw some pretty big jellyfish in the boat slip too.
The house is close to everything on Captiva. The walk to the private beach is easy. We visited it three out of our four days and only saw two other couples the entire time!
We took Nikki's recommendations for local restaurants and ended up having excellent breakfasts at the Key Lime Bistro three days in a row! We also had a memorable dinner at The Mucky Duck, another of her suggestions.
Although we didn't meet our host, communication was great and we felt welcome and comfortable in her home. We would love to spend time there again!
The perfect word to describe Nikki's house is "peaceful". Just at the end of a sand road, everything is quiet and really charming. There reigns a really relaxing ambience, from the pool with a buddha statue to the living with its deep and soft sofa in front of a bay window on nature. We were welcomed by the manatees, a little shy but they came every day by the house. And on stormy nights, we could sit in the living with a glass of wine and fresh fish we had bought in the places that Nikki recommended us.
If you have a boat (or rent one), there's a private dock with a really gorgeous view on Captiva wildlife. So it's also nice to just read a book there and enjoy.
For those who want some sand, there's a 5 min walk to go to the private white sand beach. We went there on the first day to enjoy the night sky. It was so beautiful that we went back the day after to swim and see the sunset :)
Regarding Nikki, even though we haven't met her, from the beginning she was always kind and responded quickly to our questions. We really hope that we'll be able to meet her on our next trip in Florida :)
Our only problem ? We had to leave... But our solution will be to come back as soon as we can !
Everything was just as described--even better. The place is beautiful, warm, so comfortable (I slept incredibly well!), great location. The host was in touch to make sure everything was going well--even wrote to tell me one night was supposed to be a beautiful sunset (which it was). We would come back in a minute!
We had a wonderful, restful vacation at Nikki's Hideaway on the Bay! Arrival was so very easy and our welcome included flowers in every room, soft music, fresh fruit, and lovely lighting. Our host was very responsive to any questions we had and we had everything we needed and perfect privacy and quiet. The pool was so very refreshing. Views out to Pine Island Sound are great there, especially the red sunrises, and we even got to watch the manatee family hang out in the boat slip next to the kitchen door. So easy. We also walked to the Gulf beach from the house, using the path indicated, and had the beach almost all to ourselves. (The only drawback for me were the biting no-see-ums that are everywhere on the islands. So if you react to mosquito bites, be sure to pack your deet and anti-itch cream! Evidently, the islanders build an immunity to them and are not bothered at all.) So, if you want to be on Captiva Island, enjoy lots of privacy, wildlife, and wonderful views, this is the place to stay! Thank you, Nikki!
