My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our night at the French colonial villa in the center of district 3, hosted by Pham Dilinh. The villa is beautiful. Our room was huge, very comfortable with an ensuite large bathroom. The central courtyard shared with the other villas is lovely. As I was taking photos, a very nice, courteous Vietnamese couple came out of their villa. We chatted for a moment and I, with my very midwestern American accent, felt very welcomed. Security is excellent. You are in walking distance of the central area of HCMC with lots of coffee cafes, restaurants, etc. Pham (we called her Lin) gave us an excellent map of the area with explantions of how to get where we wanted to go. As we were flying out the next morning, Lin assisted us in getting the best taxi. The airport is not far, so someone doing business in HCMC or needing to be fairly close to the airport, the villa is perfect.
For someone wanting to see HCMC aka Saigon, there could be no better way than to stay where the French colonial history surrounds you. Yet, you are within walking distance of beautiful garden parks, museums, shopping, etc. of this incredible must see city.
Dilinh was a great host and the room and the house was awesome. If you're going to HCMC I strongly suggest you stay at her place :)
Pham was a very gracious host who took the time to get to know us, even though our group of 5 spent only one night at her place. She was very helpful in that she gave us clear directions to wherever we wanted to go and even offered to call us a cab when it was raining. She was a very accommodating host who did her best to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible.
This was our first Airbnb stay. If all are like this, it will be the only way we go.Our stay with Pham Dilinh (Lyn to us) her family and the other guests was excellent. First, Lyn, quickly responded to all our queries prior to arriving at her home in District 8, Saigon or Ho Chi Min City. Our nice, clean room had a balcony looking out at the narrow interconnecting pathways in which only a motorcycle, bicycle, or person could navigate. Great views of city life. There was a lovely rooftop terrace. With Lyn's home of five stories, the view from the terrace over HCMC was terrific, a beautiful way to spend an evening. Upon our first morning, Lyn, invited us to accompany her to get coffee, tea next to her home. Not quite sure why, we soon were introduced to a terrific family from the United States. Lyn knew we were Americans. Lyn showed us the local sights, took us for an absolutely delicious lunch at the local market, showed us how to navigate the busy roadways, use the bus system, the best taxi service, etc. In otherwords, because of Lyn, we felt comfortable to see the "real" HCMC on our own in a very short time.
The day tour company that Lyn arranged for us to the Mekong Delta was also excellent in our opinion. Very well organized, well paced, interesting (email hidden)n's family is a delight. Not knowing any Vietnamese and Lyn's mother and father not knowing much English, we laughed and enjoyed each other's company very much with Lyn doing some interpreting.
As I rate and review Lyn's home, I see the picture on the left of the screen that says "great authentic stay in Saigon." Very, very true!
Linh was a great host... we had a wonderful time at her house. She took us to the local market and helped us order food. She was helpful with getting us around Ho Chi Minh City and even hung out with us at night. The house is full of fun stuff and it has a great food. Definitely recommend staying here to have a local
show you around!
It was the first time I tried out airbnb together with a friend of mine and our stay at Dilinh was a big success! The rooms are very clean, spacy and very comfortable nice bed. On top of this Dilinh is a very nice person, who helps you with any kind of questions or requests you have. She showed us the local street food (very delicious), explained us things to see in the city and was even helpful for daytrips! She and her family gave us a very warm welcome and from the first minute on it was a really nice atmosphere - like we are no stranges.
All in all it was a really nice stay for us in HCMC, which we for sure will never forget and our nice host Dilinh is mainly responsable for this! :)
We had such a wonderful time staying with Linh and her family! The rooms were perfect, and everyone in the house was so friendly - Linh was a fantastic host, taking us around for two days, showing us all the local sights. The neighbourhood was really nice and very quiet at night, very typically Vietnamese, with lots of street food and a huge market nearby. Rooms were perfect, clean, comfy mattress and AC. Thank you for an awesome two days in Saigon! :)
Linh was great! She's very kind and helped me planned most of my trips in Vietnam. She'll also bring you out to see the local hang out places. The room was clean and comfortable, with air con, private shower and a huge double bed. Her family doesn't speak English, but they are all really nice. Definitely stay at Linh's if you want to know the real Saigon!
Dilinh and your family.
Had a great time at Pham's! Very local experience and very helpful to travelers.
