Well traveled, experienced host, executive chef, dedicated to making your stay memorable!
Peter went out of his way to make our stay memorable. We loved the hot tub and a tasty 5 course meal. To give an idea of cost Peter added up the cost of the total ingredients (for myself and my partner plus Peter and his wife), plus a fee for his preparation time. Peter got us involved in cooking and was keen to show us how he was making the courses. We enjoyed the company of Peter's wife Janice who is an outdoor enthusiast, and shared useful info about the Grand Canyon and inspired us with her adventures. We would recommend you need a car to stay here!
That was a great stay! The place is awesome, the room is nice and clean, the living area comfy and the hot tub perfect for relaxing after a long day out. We had very good conservations, tasted some good beer from Victoria and watched some great movie. Definately can recommondate staying here!
Peter and Janice were great and hospitable! The food was delicious and accommodations comfortable and exactly as expected. Victoria is lovely. Thanks, Peter!
We had booked one night and stayed three nights! We had many discussions with Peter before we arrived and we were very well received. Peter and Janice were very friendly and helpful and very interesting. They advised us to go to PortRenfrew to see Botanical Bay and the beaches along the road and it was a good experience. We met a couple of friends of them, very nice and we were able to share a piece of cake with them. They were really great, they took great care of us and we thank them. It is recommended that warm welcome and we hope to see in France!
Great stay with Peter & Janice who were extremely accomodating from the excellent communication, help to get there ( picking us up and dropping us off:)), happily lending us bikes, providing info on what to do/where to go and having the lovely hot tub to finish the day under the shooting stars. This mountain retreat experience, our first with air bandb could not have been better. Thank you so much.
Peter was welcoming and very helpful. We had some trouble reaching his place, possibly as we are not too familiar with country driving, but he helped us by meeting us downtown so that we could follow him back. (If we had GPS or a map it likely would have been easier - the ferry surprised me by not having internet on board.) He also helped provide us with new driving directions that made the way home easier the next morning. The price, hot tub access, gourmet breakfast, kind service, as well as the clean and comfortable accommodations could not be beat. Our breakfasts echoed the other delicious breakfasts mentioned below, but most importantly, his friendly and generous attitude especially as a highly skilled chef highlighting his travels and culinary expertise made us feel both special and right at home. Peter was especially kind and welcoming to our out of town guests, who enjoyed the experience of visiting a different side of Victoria and relaxing the day's tensions away in the hot tub after extensive walking around the city.
Peter and Janice were amazing hosts. We requested a vegan dinner when we arrived and sat down to five exceptional courses of culinary magic. Started with a salad and exquisite hummus and flatbread on the deck, and had deer wander within feet of us while we ate on their quiet wooded back yard patio. When it got dark, we finished the rest of the courses inside -- vegan ceviche, blissful cauliflower roti, perfectly simmered and seasoned ragout. We finished with freshly made homemade sorbets.
Conversation over that time was great and lively and our hosts very knowledgable about Victoria (as well as food!). They knew how to get around town and had great suggestions for what to see as we were first time visitors. The house was very clean, comfortable, homey and inviting - they put out a great spread with comfortable beds, huge towels and homemade soaps.
Amazing. We'll be back for sure.
Peter and his family were tremendously welcoming, letting us be part of their home and lives. The house/accommodation is amazing - very tidy and cosy, a super comfy bed, and lots of little details (e.g. hand-made soap). One of the highlights definitely is the whirlpool!
What will stick in our minds most, however, will be the way Peter and hs family constantly (!) went out of their way to make our stay in Victoria a most memorable and most pleasant one. Thank you, all!
This stay was an unexpected gastronomic treat! One minute I'm desperate to find a room to stay while taking in the Rock the shores concert and the next blessed by being accepted by Peter. His home is nestled in the woods but only 10 minutes from the city!
Besides having the luxury of the "anytime" hottub and super comfortable feather bed, the BEST was the breakfast selections!! Peter is an executive chef! My dairyfree prawn omlet was only surpassed by the locally made sausages - lamb mango curry, turkey cranberry, bison blueberry and chicken something -all very good! This all started with a fresh fruit salad topped with his homemade raspberry sorbet. Plus he has a expresso machine to make wonder coffees
Peter is very helpful with directions and anything else we needed.
We can well recommend this bed and breakfast to everyone!
We had a wonderful stay with Peter and his wife, both very agreeable hosts. The house, located 15 minutes away from Victoria, was not hard to find with the clear indications provided. The bedrooms and bathroom are set in a private corner which gives more privacy.
We particularly enjoyed Peter's great cooking and free sharing of recipes. Breakfasts were delicious with local products like duck and cranberry sausages, fisherman breakfast (char topped with smoked salmon), omelette farcie with crab, and French toasts like we'd never had before! We also opted for a 5-course dinner one night and were very impressed.
This is a must-stay for any food lover - a gastronomic adventure awaits you!
Peter was a great guest. Very very friendly and polite. He invited us for a dinner, which was really excellent and moreover it was very pleasure and inspiring evening. It is a honour to host such guest.
I had a very nice experience on meeting Peter and Ann: they are lovely people and very friendly. We spent a weekend full of contrasts wandering around the province, visited countryside, villages, markets, handicraft places, jewelry, etc. Peter was very happy to buy a guitar from a real guitar maker "Pedro Ullaguari THE MAN". And he could see the process of construction of the guitar. At night Peter was kindly enough to invite us to dinner at a very special place, typical of his good taste as an expert of gourmet cuisine and good taste for wine and I had the opportunity to improve my knowledge. Peter was very generous in devoting their time to share their best marketing ideas which will be very useful in my business. Also taught us to prepare "poach egg" was had a different breakfast. Regarding the conditions in which they left the apartment everything was in order and even clean. I admire them a lot. They are authentic worldwide travelers.
I was lucky enough to meet Peter and Ann before they went to the Galapagos Islands to stay at my house. They are both lovely people and would have them stay again anytime!
Great guest....no complaints.
I had several exchanges with Peter while he was preparing his trip to France. He is an open and interested traveller and was also a pleasant guest.
Peter is an extraordinary guest ! He is very friendly, kind, funny, and respectful.
I really appreciated to take the time to know each other better.
He gave me the opportunity to look deeper behind his AirBnB profile description. I had the chance to test his wonderful cuisine (Believe me he is a pro, a real chief !)
It was great to talk with him about the simple life pleasures (traveling, meeting people, enjoy great cooking, etc.) and I realized that we have the same spirit, the same way of life !
In one word: it was just an extraordinary human encounter.
I could communicate easily with him before he came at my place, he gave me details of his plans to make his stay as comfy as he wish it and everything was perfectly clean when he left.
I deeply recommand Peter as a guest !
Peter brought a culinary experience to my little flat! I really enjoyed hosting him and appreciated his sharing of his passion for cooking and good conversation while he was here...besides this he was a courteous, pleasant, and neat guest...I hope to stay at one of Peter's AirBnB listings in the future. A very talented chef and a cool guy!
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting Peter and his business partner while they attended meetings in our area. This was the first time that we have accommodated a fellow Airbnb host, and were able to share stories of our travels, as well as tips for accommodating our guests. We understand hospitality, whether for vacation or business travel!
It was also wonderful to have two chefs in the kitchen, as Peter and Pat prepared a delicious gourmet dinner together that would rival any restaurant! A thoroughly enjoyable evening!
Communication was excellent right from the request, and we hope that they will come back when they return to the Windsor/Detroit area.
It was a pleasure to have Peter and Anne stay at St Mark’s Church. They are charming and extroverted, happy to share a glass of wine, some cheese and have a chat. We enjoyed hearing about beautiful Vancouver Island and their extensive travels. Peter kindly cooked a wonderful meal for us that we shared with other Adelaide AirBnB hosts. We all enjoyed, fabulous food, wine and wonderful company. It was an evening that will always be remembered thanks to Peter and Anne’s warmth and hospitality.
What a guy. So friendly. Seeing people like Peter making themselves at home spending his time in Amsterdam like a local puts smiles on our faces. Highly recommended guest!
The owner is a cook like non other. He is a world traveller and loves to experience and study other cuisines . His cooking reflects passion for flavour and excellence. You will want to return for another amazing visit.
