The apartment is quite large and spacious. A great option for anyone looking to really experience San Francisco like a local. The kitchen was so nice to have!
The place was very spacious and quiet. Beautiful porch and backyard with a nice view of Twin Peaks. I highly recommend staying here.
The host was friendly and helpful, answering any questions we had over the phone. The neighborhood was charming and felt relatively safe. Easy access to the BART, and lots of great restaurants nearby. It was a very authentic San Francisco experience. The host also gave a list of places to eat and things to do - all of the recommendations that we tried were amazing!
Really nice, comfy place in the heart of the Mission District! Tom was a great host, very easy-going & friendly! Thanks again.
Lots of space
Tom is great to work with.
The neighbourhood is amazing and you will love it.
Right beside Phil's coffee.
A tad smelly 1" thick carpet that traps smells. I opened a window and was fine by day 2.
Slow wifi. Can't stream Netflix for those chill nights.
That's it. Great unit. Will use many more times.
We had a nice stay in the Mission District of SF in this apartment. It was quite spacious and a short walk from the BART station and bus stops that we used frequently. We felt sufficiently safe, but given that it is a third floor walk up and the area is a little bit sketchy (guys hanging out on the street late in the evening drinking) I wouldn't have stayed here if we had young children with us.
Tom was communicative, but not invasive - we knew he was available, but we didn't interact with him unless we had questions. He was kind enough to accommodate my [pregnant] request for extra pillows and a blanket and even left us homemade muffins when he brought them by. His directions were clear and helpful and we appreciated the local neighborhood suggestions for food and sights.
While it is a beautiful, historic home my experience with the shower takes away a full star from the rating. The low height of the shower head mixed with the (apparently city-mandated) low flow spout made for a really unpleasant showering experience: a small trickle that you had to crouch under to even get wet. After long days of walking and sight-seeing I would have paid a lot of money for a relaxing shower (maybe that's not important to every guest).
The furniture and decor in the place is really sparse and lacked the comforts of home. The addition of a dresser and a chair in the bedroom, more linens and something on the walls would have improved it significantly.
All in all, it was a reasonably priced, reasonably located place for our first trip to San Francisco.
It was great stay in San Francisco, in a very nice neighborhood.
SF as it is, not only what it wants to be for the tourists.
To start the day just hop around to the corner 24th street,
Phil´z Coffee, we loved it.
The apartment was clean and comfortable.
Everything worked great, especially the communication with Tom was very prompt and easy.
This apartment was in a great location, spacious, and provided a beautiful view from the balcony. I definitely appreciated the kitchen too. I would go back any time!
This apartment was pretty below average, with a side of nasty. Tom is good at communicating, but really the place was a sparse as can be. There was nothing great about the apartment.
Here are the pros: great location, lots of space.
Here are the Cons:
-We found giant chunks of red hair in the bathroom when we arrived.
-not totally sure if he changed the bed sheets since the last guest stayed. There was also lots of hair on the sheets, and nasty ear wax on the pillow case.
-The place is pretty bare, there is nothing on the walls, and the carpet is super old and disgusting
-there was 0 water pressure in the shower
-the bed is right against the window and the noise on the street was basically amplified and prevented us from getting a good night sleep.
So yes Tom, maybe I did not read the description correctly, but maybe the description was wrong? I would look elsewhere.
-Mission District is an interesting neighbourhood and on 24th street (just around the corner) you can find everything you need. Tip: try the mojito ice coffee at Philz and treat yourself to a slice at The Pizza shop. Mission Street and Valencia street are both on walking distance and also fun.
-The apartment is very spacious and centrally located.
-the apartment only has the bare necessities. Nothing has been done to make it homy, cozy and certainly not romantic.
- I stayed a whole week and got 1 bath towel. I asked and got 1 more. There was also just 1 kitchen towel and 1 hand towel.
-the shower is not for tall people. The water pressure was so low that I rather washed my hair in the kitchen sink. There was a fair amount of mold between the lower bathroom tiles.
-my overall impression of the apartment was that it needs some work.
-When I arrived I did not know where to get the key, how to get in, what the Internet password was, etc.
