Abigal is wonderful. Her apt was super comfortable and clean. Loved the all white style of the apt. Highly recommend her apt!
It was a very pleasant stay. The bedroom is spacious and very comfortable. There is plenty of room to have your things around (and we had many) and the bed is wonderful to sleep in when you get back tired from a day around New York.
We only saw Abigail on the day we arrived because we weren't there much, but she was fantastic to us and she made herself available for anything we needed, which was much appreciated. The walk to the NY underground is barely 5 minutes and the area is quiet and safe.
My friend and I stayed at Abigail's place for 8 nights. We loved the apartment! Abigail is into fashion so the whole apartment is decorated with a fine sense for art. We enjoyed our stay, we enjoyed NYC. The neighborhood is safe (this was very important for the two of us, being 2 girls in a city like NY) All in all, we had only great experience to share. We highly recommend Abigail's place!
My sister and I only stayed at Abigail's place for two nights but I can certainly recommend it. The apartment is beautiful, very close to subway station and the neighbourhood is safe. Abigail was a very welcoming and considerate host, even though she wasn't feeling well when we came. And that says something.
Abi was an AMAZING host! She made me feel like staying over at a friend and was super sweet & helpful with everything. Would most definetelly go back staying with her when in NY!!!
The room was exactly like advertised in the pictures and even more, the bed and the pillows were fantastic!! I even checked the next day the producer of the bed matress out of curiosity because I had slept that good! The neighbourhood is super ok and the people very friendly. At night there is security downstairs and I felt super safe. Also there's a supermarket close with lots of variety for even the pickyest (ex: found fresh aloe vera leafs...) and very good prices.
Not the least, the building next door is the Morris Jumel Mansion: 1765 built, George Washington's headquarters during the Revolutionary War & Manhattan's oldest house, right next door!!
Abigail is a great host and is very responsive to our needs. The room is nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. She's honest about the unit being a pre-war apartment: air-conditioner in the kitchen, so it takes time for the unit to cool off. The place is clean and well-maintained with nice linen and towels. Kitchen utensils are adequate for simple meals. Edgecombe Avenue is a nice neighbourhood unlike Amsterdam Avenue. Convenient to subway C-line. It's quite easy to find a parking spot. Great value for the money!
Abigail has been a great host. She is really nice and positive person. I can't even imagine anyone having any problems with her. Even though the place is not in the centre of Manhattan, it is really close to metro which will take you anywhere. I would recommend Abigail's place with 100%
If you come to New York for visiting and want to find a good place to sleep you have to go to Abigail's home. She's very nice. You know sometime when you come in a host home the person doesn't speak with you and let you alone. Here it's not like that she lets your intimity but if you need help or something she's here. She have a very good taste in the diseign of her appartment and it is very good situate.
My boyfriend and I were staying at Abigail's place for a night and we both fell in love with the room. Everything was exactly as described and shown in the pictures. The apartment was very clean and neat. Abigail was extremely flexible and made everything to accommodate our schedule. She agreed on flexible check-in and check-out times! The only thing about the apartment is the absence of the microwave. We already had our food with us and just needed to heat it up. Since there was no microwave, we had to use the stove, which was quite unmanageable. Also, a small note for future tenants about the location: IF YOU USE SUBWAY, FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS IN THE APARTMENT DESCRIPTION AND TAKE C TRAIN. NEVER TAKE B TRAIN!!!! Otherwise you will have to go up through very steep, long stairs that have unpleasant odor to say the least. Overall, beautiful apartment, very nice host, but keep in mind some things about the neighborhood.
I have stayed in Abigail's place twice and would do so again. It is exactly as she has advertised and she is very easy to work with.
My only nit to pick is that while the apartment has broadband, the wireless connection has been balky both times, and I could never really count on it. If wireless broadband is critical, like with an ipad, consider bringing your own small wireless router and connecting it directly to her apartment's router.
