Ben, I have little to say to defend myself. I have no other option to accept all your complaints and apologize for them. Having said this, I would truly wish to explain myself all the different mistakes I did which unfortunately, occurred during your stay:
1) I am reluctant to give the exact address through email for security reasons. I am convinced that in the billing receipt you have it clearly. I'm sorry to have confused you believing the address was in the pdf file I sent you. No other guest had ever had such a problem. I will definitely pay more attention to it.
2) You arrived more than 1hr later that day.. unfortunately, I had to rush to attend a course and I was unreachable until later. I should have remarked -and predicted in advance- it was going to be difficult to contact me afterwards.
3) Regarding the bath. The place is left perfectly clean to you for what.. it is one's duty to remove one's own hairballs. Regarding the drain, true it is not fantastic however, I must say no previous user had complaint (the problem mentioned in the pdf was presently solved). I take special care on it and do always insist in letting me know if anything happens.
4) The roadworks.. I'm sorry. It was really a surprise for me as well that they worked on a Saturday morning (I am currently jobless and spent much of time looking for a job not visiting the place as often as it should). I went there after you left and now I now that in a couple of weeks all the noise will be over. I was unaware of the dimensions of the problem. I am currently -from last week onwards- advicing potential users of this nuisance.
As you say.. it could have been perfect, but it wasn't. I'm sorry for this, for what I would like to ammend all the inconveniences this may have caused you by offering you either a compensation or a free stay in our place if you ever come back again swearing you the experience will be as good you would have wished this time. I hope my previous reviews -the guest before you, stayed for a week eventless-, will convince you this is possible. I will do my best to turn my listing into an airbnb gem, as you point out... (unfortunately, I have learnt from your bad experience..)
