I am a late 41 year old, non-smoker who enjoys staying in places other then generic, crumby hotels! My girlfriend and I enjoy road trips, thrift store shopping and hitting garage sales along the way. We very much enjoy traveling and have done so pretty extensively. Thailand has been a favorite destination over the years, and I even lived there for some time, where I met my lovely partner.
Our hobbies include drinking coffee (hopefully that is a hobby!), reading, surfing, vintage shopping, and generally hanging out and people watching. Aesthetically we are into retro stuff and love a good find at a thrift store. I really like pets, particularly dogs, but unfortunately live in an apartment and travel too much to have any.
Also, we do sublet our place quite a bit on Airbnb. So, we do appreciate the importance of respecting the surroundings we are in and recognizing that we are in more then just a hotel, we are in someone's home. We have had great experiences with subletting our place as well and have met some great people and hopefully will continue to have good experiences in the future.
I guess the one negative about myself is that I tend to snore....although not too loudly. Actually there are probably a few others, but my girlfriend is not here at the moment to fill me in on them!
I am supposed to type a life motto here as well, but how are you supposed to some up your life in one motto? How about one of the quotes that I like to spout off every now and then when i am pontificating about travel, and applies to Air BnB in a way as well:
"Travelers there is no path, paths are made by walking"- A great quote by Antonia Machado, a great Spanish poet. And words to live by.
Thanks fellow travellers, and look forward to meeting you somewhere along the path!
