We stayed in Marcelo's apartment for two weeks, and after a few days it felt like home. There aren't many possessions in the apartment so it doesn't feel like you are living in someone else's home.
It was great to have a self contained apartment with all the necessities.
Location was perfect, right in between LES, Nolita, Soho, Little Italy. Walking distance of 1 minute to Grand St subway, and 10 minutes to Spring St, Soho. Broadway was a bit over 10 minutes walk. Lots of great restaurants and bars around, Wholefoods is closeby.
Marcelo was very efficient and quick in replying to messages, great host.
Lots of natural light. The 5 level walk up is not an issue. More spacious than the pictures show.
Would definitely recommend staying here, wish we had have stayed longer.
Thanks from two mid 20's Australians
Marcello a été disponible avant et pendant le séjour par internet , il s'est assuré que tout allait bien. Le logement correspondait bien aux descriptions. Le quartier est très sympa, vivant, un peu bruyant néanmoins
Loved the appartment, the photos don't do it justice. Nice and open plan and light and you feel right at home as there aren't lots of personal possessions left in place like some do so you don't feel like you're staying in someone else's flat. It was lovely and clean and everything was in a good condition. Had everything you would need and although we didn't meet our host he was prompt, helpful and friendly in his replies and the pizzeria 'lombardis' which he recommended do some yummy pizzas and is only a couple of minutes walk away.
Location we found was perfect as ur literally around the corner from the Bowery subway and from there you can get to all the cool tourist spots in a matter of minutes. Also when you look down the street you can see Brooklyn bridge!
There are plenty of cool places to eat and drink too within easy walking distance and if you don't mind payin a little more, go to Ken and Cook and get the rack of lamb- nicest meal I've ever had!
The only down side I had was that because the air conditioning units were in the bottom section of the windows, you could never shut the noise out so was loud throughout the night without the air con even being on. So ear plugs are advised if you're not a heavy sleeper.
But overall I would reccommend it as its a great appartment, perfect location, your feel like your in the real New York, cool views down the streets and a helpful host **thumbs up**
I should say that I`m very grateful to Marcelo - he was the only one host who confirmed the apartment for me on the period I was going to visit NYC. It was my first time in NY, and I found myself like an alien in such crazy city, but at the moment I entered Marcelo`s place - I felt it like I entered my home. The apartment was quite large, clean, everything worked and the bed was comfy. The kitchen was equiped with everything you might need. Marcelo is a great host - positive and responsible, quickly responed. Thanks a lot once again!
Marcelo was a very helpful host- he responded quickly to any questions & checked up on us to make sure everything was ok. The apartment was perfect for 2 people, nicely decorated with everything to hand. Unfortunately there were building works going on every morning next door, but that was the only inconvenience. The location is great for exploring nearby Little Italy, China Town, Soho/Nolita, with Subway stops nearby. Recommended for a good base in NYC!
The apartment is very close to the subway which makes it easy to get anywhere. It is located on the 5th floor and there is no elevator, which might be a problem for some people.
The place is tiny and clean (although not super clean). The air conditioning is working and the wifi and all the rest also.
Marcelo was a fantastic host and was available to answer any questions quickly, although we never met him.
The location is perfect, although Chinatown is really close.
We stayed in Marcelos apartment for two and a half weeks. It was spacious, clean and tidy. Everything worked and we made good use of the kitchen while we were there, there is an organic food shop a couple of blocks away. The apartment is very close to the subway which makes it easy to get anywhere in manhattan or Brooklyn. It is located on the 5th floor though which is the only negative thing.
Marcelo was a fantastic host and was available to answer any questions quickly no matter the importance of it. We were extremely happy with our first air bnb experience with Marcelo and would recommend anyone to stay here, you won't regret it!
From the time my boyfriend and I booked Marcelo's apartment to when we left, everything was perfect. He replied to my booking request immediately, and accepted, also answering any initial queries we had. When we arrived in NYC, he had given us very clear instructions on how to pick up the keys and when we got there, it was pretty much as per pictures. Cute, spacious, quiet, air conditioned (so good in summer!) and so close to subway stops. The BEST thing about the place is that it borders so many of the coolest NY areas; Chinatown, Little Italy, Lower East Side, East Village, Noho, Nolita ... it's all within a VERY short walk.
I was going to be studying and my boyfriend was sightseeing so we had different schedules - when I asked Marcelo if it was possible to get an extra set of keys, he went out straight away and had a set made and dropped off to us. He also gave us a list of places for eating & drinking he recommended.
When we had troubles getting it together to leave on time, I asked Marcelo at the really LAST minute for some extra time to pack up and he was gracious enough to allow us much more time, which we were really grateful for.
If you want to feel like you TRULY belong in NYC, this place has everything you need and Marcelo was very hospitable. We even got to know the owner of the creole seafood restaurant downstairs (The Boil) and he invited us to dine with them. The place had a lineup and people waiting patiently outside every time we ventured out so we had to try it. It was the best meal we had in New York! Definitely give it a try too.
Thanks Marcelo - even though we never met, we felt very welcomed by you! We'll tell all our friends about our stay with you!
Had a wonderful time in Marcelo's apartment, he was a great host and very welcoming. The location was amazing and we couldn't have asked for anything more. The apartment was clean, large in size (for an NYC apartment), bright and clean.
Excellent, friendly host & large, well-designed apartment. Would love to stay again.
Marcelo was the perfect guest. He was easy to reach by text and phone despite having some software issues with his phone. He was neat, clean and left the place in extremely good condition. It was a pleasure having him as a guest. Marcelo is welcome back anytime. Thanks, Marcelo!
