You can read our decent public review and our rather harsher private comments. You seem such a nice person and were responsive and forthcoming, which we did appreciate. But we were frankly shocked by the condition of the entry and stairs of your home, the sight of the peeling paint and the strong dog smell (we are dog lovers, btw, I grew up with and have owned several beloved dogs) plus the cleaning items stored right next to the door of the room just depressed us every time we came "home" after a long day or exited the unit to begin another. Repairing and repainting that area would go a long way to making the unit itself more pleasant. We also found the pretense of "cooking" (we did none) in the unit off-putting: it is not possible to wash up dishes -- even a couple of mugs and plates for breakfast -- in that tiny bathroom sink with no dish towel and no dish soap and no sponge! We did the best we could with the liquid hand soap and paper towels. (You might remove the Ikea sales stickers from the bottom of the plates!) It's also really not pleasant to try to eat squeezed on the tiny sofa in front of one of the unfolded tray tables. It was also hard to squeeze in and out of the tub, though the grab bars were appreciated (and necessary). Regrouting the tub with a new, clean line of grout would help its appearance and feel a lot. We were shocked by the toilet brush resting directly on the floor: a brush in a holder wouldn't cost much! We also found the bed not up to standard: the thin Ikea mattress sagged and the bed frame is rickety. We appreciated the plentiful clean towels and the air conditioner but the sheets were rumpled, covered in dryer lint (I had to calm Philippe down who was convinced they were dirty because of the hair stuck to them and show him it was static electricity and dryer lint that were the culprits) and of poor quality (cheap Ikea sheets with a low thread count perhaps?). Better sheets and a smoothly made bed with perhaps at least the pillow cases ironed and any dryer lint removed after washing would make a much better impression. We didn't bring any of this to your attention when we were there because it was all just overwhelming and we didn't know how you could "fix" any of it for us. Finally, we met your upstairs tenant and found her lovely and very discreet (we hardly knew she was there).
