DO NOT stay here.
My arrival and most of my stay at Tripti was pretty good. I think this place gets power outages more often than many other places, definitely more than other places I've stayed at. The food is good, chai is good, but the service in the cafe can be really slow at times. There came to be a sense of belonging to the tribe by the end of my stay, which was kinda cool. Manas, who seems to handle most things and is there basically all the time, was very friendly and went out of his way to make me feel welcome.
HOWEVER, my last night here was something out of a horror movie. Around ten I heard loud, drunken men shouting and carousing. No biggie. Then at 2:30 am I heard a man singing very loudly, very drunk. Again, I can write this off to backpacker partying. But and hour later I was woken again by the sound of a woman screaming, desperate screams, and a man beating and yelling at her. I was out of bed before I realized I was even awake. There is a hole between my bathroom and their bathroom, and I spent the next hour going between staring at that hole (which is up by the ceiling, for air flow I'm guessing) and running to my keyhole to see if I could see anything. I was too scared to go out, pass that room, and try to get upstairs to talk to Manas. Besides which, her screaming was, I believe, loud enough to hear upstairs.
This went on for a good hour and a half, them quieting down, then more screaming more beating. At one point I heard what I think was a second man's voice yelling at the woman. Lots of yelling from everyone. Then, around five or a little bit after, quiet.
As soon as the sun was up sufficiently I went upstairs, but Manas was not there and had apparently not been there all morning. I some to the other man working there about what happened, and he didn't seem to care at all. I left, as I was checking out that day anyway, and later received a message from Manas, explaining the night as 'my friend fighting'.
Despite my earlier decent experience here, I highly recommend AGAINST staying here. Spend a little more money, and stay somewhere safe and sane.
We had an AMAZING stay at Tripti! We didn't actually interact very much with Ankur but did with his nephew, Manis, who was running the hotel in his place. Manis was so welcoming, sweet, and did everything in his power to make our stay not only comfortable, but fun! He gave us lots of tips and lead a wonderful scooter trip to nearby Neer Garh waterfall. Manis is our favorite! I would definitely stay at Tripti again, and recommend it to anyone staying in Rishikesh! The rooms are clean, the location a little removed from the commotion, and the host is awesome!
Decent place with a very warm host. Makes you feel at home instantly.
Below average experience. When my parents and me arrived, we were told that the room we had booked was occupied by someone else and even though they arranged for us to stay at another hotel, it was a place with a very different vibe, one of those unpersonalized hotel blocks. Furthermore, we had initially booked 3 nights and ended up staying only 2 and had communicated that with Ankur a couple of weeks before arriving. He said we would take care of the refund once we got to rishikesh. We still had to go several times from our Hotel to Tripti to ask for the refund though.
Wouldn't recommend anyone staying there. There are much nicer places to stay in a much better location at the Ganges.
My stay at Ankur was great. The boys were excellent and showed me around Rishikesh. The rooms were clean, and the bed was the warmest you can find there. Will be going there again very soon.
Ficamos no hotel do Ankur por 3 noites. A cidade de Rishikesh é incrível e gostamos muito do hotel. O restaurante é muito bom.
I arrived at Tripti night time and was welcomed by Sunil who was looking after the guest house. I immediately felt safe and happy. Sunil is a lovely, caring and warm man he is also a trekking guide and offers many different treks up the mountains at the right time of year.
My room was better than what I had expected, large with high ceilings, simple but clean enough. Three more rooms were being done up during my stay and they are beautiful, spacious and have balcony's. Tripti was for me a perfect location away from the bustle of the market but an easy 10 min walk to Laxman Jhula Bridge and all the restaurants and shops and the breathtaking Ganga! Tripti is in Tapovan the top part of Laxman Jhula and there are also cafes, restaurants and shops near by. When Sunil left for trekking 2 young guys came to look after Tripti; Mann Singh and Sagar who are both great and have become good friends to me. They are also great cooks! The food offered is reasonably priced and tasty! I did not meet Ankur as he was away tending to his father but I did have the pleasure of meeting his wife Sushmita who is both beautiful and lovely.
Rishikesh is full of love and peace, filled with natural beauty go with an open heart and you can not be dissapointed!
Ankur and his father Atul both are very kind, friendly, helpful, worthwhile trust. Although simple but they are always willing to give the best to guests. I enjoy my stay with this nice family. Good location, not far from the heart area Laxman Jhoola bridge, walking distance. New rooms are under construction, could be a good choice after setting up. 嘿，这是很好的一家人，值得信任，推荐给中国的朋友们:)。Ying from Beijing
You arrive at Tripti and feel welcome instantly. Ankur is a wonderful person, in the most easy and simple way possible. The location of the place is very good and probably will please most travelers.
The place is simple. People seeking comfort should look elsewhere. But if you want to stay with nice people in Rishikesh, this is the place.
Had a great stay in Rishikesh! Room was big, and the bed was comfortable. The only thing we wished is that the use of the kitchen was included in the stay. All in all though a great place to stay, and the staff are very helpful!
