Hubby & I had a nice relaxing time at Sally's little beach home. We did lots of cooking there, the kitchen was nicely stocked with pretty much what we needed to cook with.. We used the grill as well... So nice to be able to get laundry done without having to go to the laundry mat...! The home was nice & comfortable ... If you don't need fancy & just would like a nice clean simple beach home, this will work out for you nicely...
Great neighborhood! Great place to stay!
What a lovely home! Everything we needed was at the house and the location was perfect. We know exactly where we will stay on our next visit to St. Augustine without question.
Sally was super responsive and helpful even though she was in the midst of an incredibly busy work week. The location was superb (three blocks from the beach) and the kitchen had the basics to cook with. The house was fully stocked with towels and sheets and she was gracious enough to let us use the bikes. Also not shown in the pics is a large yard with a grille. We were happily surprised! Bathroom had a place to sit down which was perfect for my 92 year old grandmother. She was able to easily navigate the house with her walker as well. Would definitely stay here again.
Enjoyed staying in Sally's home. It was perfect for myself and two teenagers. Plus so convenient with the dog. Very quiet and close to shopping and the beach!!! Sally was very nice and responded very quickly when I had questions!! Thanks and I would definitely stay again!
My daughter and I stayed at Sally's place for 4 nights and had a very nice time. We went without a car and were able to bike everywhere we needed to go. The Publix market is 2 miles down the road and downtown St Augustine is 4 miles. There are numerous bike lanes and bike paths so it was easy enough. The beach was very nice, and close, and relatively uncrowded. The Sunset Grill a few doors down is a nice place to eat, especially if you get a outdoor rooftop table with a view of the ocean. I'm kind of embarrassed to say that we ate there every night because apparently there's a lot of nice restaurants downtown, but we were late off the beach every evening, so that's how it went. There's also a nice ice cream shop, Cone Heads, nearby with great homemade ice cream and waffle cones. The farmer's market, we hit it on Saturday, is worth the trip. Good amount of organic produce and artisan (website hidden) Augustine itself is a mix of historical sites, nice shops and tacky tourist junk so you have to pick and choose. Sally's home was comfortable enough, a 1960's era beach bungalow, low key as she says, not modernized, complete with surf boards (not for use) in the living room. Kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. My daughter liked chasing geckos in the yard, a bonus if you have that kind of kid. The bikes by the way were those classic 1 speed beach bombers- they did the job. For proximity to the beach, you can get a fancier place, but you can't beat the price.
We had a wonderful stay at Vacation Home Across From The Beach. It was too brief. The early days of April weather were perfect. Two couples in their sixties had space and privacy. The one couple from the Netherlands soaked up beach and sun, while the other went into St Augustine each day. Of particular note was the gallery walk on Fri eve. I think Sally would agree that her decor could be described as beach house shabby chic. We had clean sheets and towels and were able to leave these for the cleaner to wash. The kitchen is unusually spacious and well stocked with appliances, utensils etc. There is a front and back yard for drying clothes as well as washer and (website hidden) Augustine is a gem and really one of the nicest places we have EVER visited! Everything reported about white sand beaches is true. We had just come from Clearwater Beach which was comparatively noisy and congested, a different experience and also very nice. To add to this the extraordinary architecture, history, eateries, galleries and "walkability" means a concentration of delights!
We were able to rent this at a very reasonable price per person per night.
what a great location - so close to the beach and on a quiet road - nobody other than residents can park . Home is easy to look after. Enjoyable backyard to relax in. Not a long drive to get into the older part of St Augustine. Wonderful restaurants nearby. Great Farmer's Market on Wed am in the parking lot in front of the Info Centre near the pier. Had a great stay!
This home is as Sally describes it, a low key beach house. The location is good: easy walking distance to a dog friendly beach, restaurants and a weekly farmers market. The neighborhood was quiet, the house comfortable, clean and warm in the cold snap we had. Sally was great, immediately responsive and going out of her way to get answers to our question about a vet referral. We recommend Sally's home .
My daughter and I had a great weekend at Sally's cute little beach house. It was just what I expected and exactly what I wanted. And Sally was very friendly and answered all of my questions by email and text almost as soon as I'd sent them. The beach access was terrific. I hope to stay there again. Thanks, Sally.
Sally is a fantastic guest. Since she has her own place listed, I also learned a good deal about how to improve my own, from her visit with me.
Great guests! Very pleasant and respectful of the home. Sally is welcome back anytime.
She is the most honest person that I know. She will go above and beyond for you. She is the best friend you could ever have.
