My stay in Berlin with host Beatrice Bues was for me like coming back in time, when what you take „for granted“ now was in short supply in Soviet bloc countries some 30 years ago. No soap, no washing liquid, antiquated tableware and blunt knives... I have been wondering where could one on earth find so cheap towels and undescribably plain hangers. The cheaper, the better? On the other hand, civilization was more properly represented by electric appliances and cosy armchairs. But again, the installation was primitive and, in my opinion, far from safe. All in all it has been an uncanny mix of West Berlin and DDR. So my advice would be: if you do not want to begin your stay in Berlin from looking around for soap, you better ask what is meant by „essentials“. If it is important for you to pay „all included“ in advance you better ask many times what does it include indeed. Even if I prepaid more than 2400 EURʼos for “all included”, the host was smart enough to claim 47 EUR’os more for electricity! The location was good, it was easy to reach any part of Berlin.
Our family of four stayed in this apartment for 6 weeks while relocating to Berlin. Beatrice was a very friendly and welcoming host and was accommodating to our complex arrangements. She also addressed any issues we had in a prompt manner.
The apartment is in a great location - right in the middle of restaurants, shopping, city parks, etc. It's very close to major S-Bahn, U-Bahn and bus routes, so getting anywhere in Berlin is easy. The immediate neighborhood is quite nice and safe. There’s an italian restaurant / wine bar and a bakery just outside the front door.
The apartment itself is “cozy” (small) but tastefully decorated and efficiently furnished. The kitchen is small and outfitted only for very simple cooking. The apartment is probably ideal for a single person or a couple for a short to mid-term stay; larger groups (e.g. families) should consider it only for short stays.
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

In fact my partner, dog and I stayed in the apartment on the Herderstrasse for a month. This was a studio flat. In principle the flat was nice, clean and well furnished, only the shower is bad. I would probably recommend it for a weekend, not for a longer period unless you are only one person. Beatrice was helpful but often here answers were a bit incomplete.

Beatrice is a great host. Every time that we need her was there for us. Always kindly we didn´t have any problem on arrival and on dismissal.
The flat is enough for a couple, it has all that you may need. We have stay for a month and it´s fulfilled all our needs.
The neighborhood is really quiet and secure. To go shopping Ku´damm is 5-10min by foot. It´s funny to see rabbits and squirrels in the gardens. Our dog was also happy to have some parks nearby :-)
Very nice apartment, equipped with everything you need.
Good location with excellent public transportation.
Beatrcie was very kind and reliable.
Schöne Wohnung, alles da was man braucht. gerne wieder.
Nice apartment. Easy check-in and check-out. Beatrice was helpfull with additional information. Easy to park car (waiting a few minutes for a free spot).
