Anna's flat is magnificent , it felt like being in a fairytale . I organise food & wine customised tours in Piemonte and around Italy and I have seen many places , but this one is a different class ;-)
It has been a pleasure staying at Anna's place. We stayed at Casa dei Catari last year and stayed at Casa dei Templari this year. It was again a fantastic experience. Her place is in the best location in Langhe, right across the street from a wonderful wine bar. The apartment is clean and modern, but with a twist of an old Italian atmosphere. She has everything you need for a comfortable stay such as moka pot, spices, bedding, towels, and hair dryer. We highly recommend both apartments to anyone who wants to stay in a comfortable place with a prime location!
Diponibile e cordiale l'host. Punto strategico per visitare le langhe. Ottimo wine bar proprio di fronte a casa. Consigliato!
What a great place to stay, when you visit the Piemonte region. We didn't miss anything as the apartment ist very well equipped. There is plenty of space, even as a family of 4 an the kids just loved the special place.
The region has much to offer - as mentioned before - and Monforte is a good starting point for your ventures.
Having stayed at a number of places through airbnb - we felt this lacked a personal touch. There was a lot to like, the apartment was unique and the location excellent. As other people have mentioned - the wine bar across the road is fantastic. We enjoyed using the terrace for breakfasts especially. But the place felt a little like comfort was foregone for quirkiness. As a simple example the beds are very small and the couches not comfortable for relaxing after a long day exploring. Also the lack of WiFi was inconvenient. So the location is fantastic for Piemonte region, the flat is fun but lacks a home away from home feel.
Convenient, good view, clean, special deco, a good place to be.... Are some of the words my wife and friend used following our stay. We enjoyed the experience and would look at staying there again. I would recommend to anyone wanting some old world charm dying their stay.
Anna was a great host, emailing back and forth with me several times to answer my questions regarding restaurants, parking etc. The neighborhood is absolutely gorgeous and romantic. The apartment is fun and funky, with a truly beautiful bathroom and an amazing view of the balcony. We would definitely stay here again--and we would definitely go again to the Case della Saracca wine bar across the street, recommended by Anna. Its ingenious and funky architecture and styling was a great part of the whole experience.
Had a wonderful time! Was everything we wanted and needed and more. Easy to find with the directions, great views in the city and a comfortable space to relax with friends. I would recommend to anyone. Only thing to watch is to make sure you hit enough switches in the bathroom to turn the fan on.
I will start with the negatives first, the description of the house and its location really don't do it justice. We loved our stay here. The house is located in the old part of one of the prettiest villages in Piedmont with a fantastic view from the terrace of the local countryside.
The house is lovely, plenty of space for the 2 of us but 4 people or a family would also be very comfortable here. It has everything you need except an iron, but Anna apologised for this and has said she will make one available in the future. Sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine in the evening really is a pleasure.
Directly opposite the house is a really fantastic wine bar and restaurant where you can taste local wines and the owner is really helpful providing us with a list of great wineries to visit. There are also plenty of other places to eat and drink in the village. About 400 yards up the hill from the house is the Conterno Fantino Vinayard which we visited. We would most definitely recommend, its is beautifully built, the owners daughter provides a great tour and the wine is superb.
Barolo is only 5 minutes in the car and the rest of the region is really accessible.
It was a real wrench leaving the house to continue our travels and we have already decided we will be back next year.
