We are a couple sharing this appartment, it was listed on my profile, Evelien, but me and Anders live here as a couple so we manage the appartment together. I was in London during their stay which is why we thought it was easier if Anders managed the contact with our guests. I thought I had explained this and that you were ok with this, so I apoligize if this was not communicate clearly enough.
The kitchen wall with paint stains does show on the pictures, 3/13 4/13 and 6/13 for your reference. Yes, there is mould in our shower, appartments this close to the canals in Amsterdam tend to have mould but it is in no way a hazard to your health. Otherwise we would not want to live here either.
The way you tried to arrange a compensation we perceived as sneaky and unfair. The tone you used was very unfriendly and threatening. Anders is indeed a very decent guy, but not when people try to take advantage of us.
You should not go around AirBnB regulations, if you were truly worried for your health you should have contacetd us immeadiatly and looked into compenstaion on the AirBnB site. Not finish your stay and then let us know the complaints.
There is a small sink in the toilet next to the shower where you can brush your teeth, we provided two standard towels for you, we assumed that for 2 nights this would be enough. Next time we will leave out more towels just in case.
269 euros for a complete appartment, is much less than you would pay for a hotel room on this location. No question about it.
All in all, I think we are both disappointed by the booking. If your expectations are that high, it's probably best to pay up and book a hotel.
