My experience with Dia as host was exlusively positive. She responded fast on everything I asked before I arrived, and was helpful with tips. Her place was very interesting and fascinating, which made my stay even better, even though it was quite short.

Dia's place is funky and interesting. Totally private space and very convenient to Oakland airport with lots of restaurants and shopping close by. Nice crash pad with an accommodating hostess.

A really nice room in the back of a spacious place. And what a great location. Close to Fruitvale Station, the Coliseum, the airport and you can see Alameda out the back window. Great for Oakland and probably great for San Francisco too.
(It might look like a couch from the picture, but that is an incredibly soft bed.)
Dia's place is a wonderful mix of power and gentle support.
The location is a vortex between a water canal, a rail road, a walkable bridge to very friendly community resources, restaurants, stores... and sunset viewing of fantastic colors. Bracing micro-climate for the Bay Area. The loft space is amazing...guest's separate area with own bath is large, comfortably furnished, very clean and well arranged for visitors' comfort and enjoyment.
The decor; art, books, sweet cats (two, fantastic!), pillow fabrics, and Dia's own travel photo-shots all provide an instant rapport. I felt welcome and simpatico in Dia's home upon arriving even though it was two hours before we'd actually meet!
Dia is great with conversing as well as having her own schedule when separate time is preferred. The layout of the loft provides this independence (although visitor's area picks up some water pipe and floor board sounds of her upstairs area).
Also, the kitchen is inviting, equipped with modern appliances, very nice!
I am hoping to revisit soon; because of the comfy space, interesting location, and, clearly, Dia enjoys people and provides a wonderful ambiance for a memorable stay. Thanks!
Dia was prompt in her communications and quick to answer questions. Accommodations were comfortable, neat, and clean. The decor is fun. I really enjoyed the lighting and spaciousness of the loft itself as well. Their is an artistic water fountain in the loft complex and the complex is right on the Tidal Canal. Thanks very much Dia!
Really cool place to stay in a really funky and fun neighborhood! Very well decorated and Dia puts a lot of effort into making sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. Thanks a lot!
Dia was an excellent host! Very sweet, great communication, and easy to get along with. I had to leave early due to unforeseen circumstances on my part, and she refunded my money for the days I didn't use.
The room was very clean and spacious. It almost felt like having my own studio apt, along with the shared use of the common areas in her huge loft. I like a soft bed, and hers was super comfy.
I look forward to staying with her again, and recommend her place to others.
Pros: Comfortable bed, private space, VERY clean. Nice shower, toiletries, access to washer and dryer. Pleasant host. Great little coffee and breakfast sandwich place around the corner (Kefa Coffee). Close to BART and I-880. The host was very responsive, and I was able to book my stay in less than 48 hours.
Cons: Noise. There is a train that services the cement plant down the street. The freight train rolls down the street between 12 to 3 a.m. a few nights per week. The loft can be a bit loud at times (as lofts can be). There is no sound proofing between the guest and host space. Street parking only.
Summary: Comfortable, easy to commute, safe, cute, funky neighborhood, bring ear plugs or noise canceling earphones.
