I am a native New Yorker with a wide variety of interests. I'm a big NY sports fan. I currently work as a DJ at different bars around the city.
Joe's studio is located in a very nice area (restaurant, bar and transportation). THe studio itself is very nice, very well equiped. We found it clean and comfortable, and nicely decorated
We met Joe during the check in and he gave us all tips regarding the neighbourhood and the commodity. Joe was always availlable and answered immediatly to our request by mail.
Despite of Sandy storm , we had a great time in this appartment
Joe was very reactive and helpful prior to my arrival. The appartment was clean, the bed comfortable, the sheets were almost brand new and the WIFI fast. (a must compared to the expensive but poor wifi connections in the hotels).
The neighboorhood is central and the most famous attractions (Soho, little Italy, Chinatown) are less than 10 mn walk. You can get to the other ones (Statue of liberty, Times Square, Central park... ) easily by taking the Metro line nearby.
I would definitly recommend to stay there, my colleagues are already thinking about coming ;)
Joe was very helpful, he gave useful tips about the area and checked in to make sure everything was right for my stay. The place was very clean and comfortable. The location was super convenient to metro and several bars and restaurants. A quiet street and ideal choice for someone looking for a NYC east village experience.
We really enjoyed staying at Joe's apartment. It is ideally located in the East Village which is definitely one of the best area to stay in New York. The place was exactly as described: not very large but a good size for 2 people and very clean. Although the street can be a little noisy, it was overall very comfortable to stay there and we really felt like we were at home.
We did not meet with Joe in person as he was travelling, but he was very easy to communicate with and answered quickly and precisely to our questions. Also, his friend welcomed us in the apartment when we arrived although it was late in the evening, which we really appreciated.
The host canceled my reservation 5 days before arrival.
Joe's apartment was perfectly located for us. It was close to heaps of great bars, restaurants and shops with lots of subway options to get to anywhere in the city. The East Village is super, super cool! Small but good size for a couple with everything you could need - even a clothes rack which is always helpful. But it was a ground floor apartment, so if you are a light sleeper or early to bed on the weekend this might not be perfect - having said that we slept fine the whole time.
And Joe was quick to reply to emails/texts and happy to accommodate our arrival and departure times. Great time all round.
We had a great time at Joe's apartment. It's perfectly located in the middle of everything. It was spotlessly clean, and everything was as described.
Joe's communications were excellent - he always replied to our messages quickly and and gave good, clear answers. He met us in person to hand over the keys and answered any questions we had and gave us some recommendations regarding places to go.
Whilst the place is pretty small, it seems to have made much better use of space than a lot of bigger places we looked at; there is a big cooker and fridge freezer and still room on the worktop for preparation if you want to cook, and there's still somewhere to sit and eat.
It was perfect for us as a couple for a week as a base to from where we could see New York.
Thanks very much Joe!
Joe was an amazing host, and he made our trip comfortable and fun. His place is cozy, cute, very clean, and in a great neighborhood. It had everything I needed to feel like I had a home away from home. I am so glad I was able to stay with Joe -- I'm not sure our trip would have been as good otherwise. Will definitely stay at his place again on my next trip! :)
Joe is my neighbor and all i can say is: he is a well-informed New Yorker with a great sense of humor, eager to share his knowledge of the city and extremely accommodating to guests. His place is neat, well-furnished and in a great neighborhood, lots of things to do around here day and night! I don't believe you can find a better host than Joe.
As a friend of Joe's, I've spent a good amount of time in his apartment. Because of the great location, we often grab coffee or a bite nearby and then head to the apartment to hang out. Compared to other NYC studios, Joe's apartment is spacious, yet manages to still feel cozy and inviting. The kitchen is a perfect size to cook up a feast and the bed is very comfortable (a great place to watch movies). Joe takes pride in his home and this is evident in the way that he cares for it- the apartment is ALWAYS spotless and tidy.
Anyone who stays at Joe's will no doubt enjoy a comfortable stay (and a shower with amazing water pressure!).
