Thanks very much for staying with us. I am very sorry that you did not like my old house. Did you know that this house is very unique, and very old, circa 1675. It is one of the oldest house in Dublin, it is the title of the listing, hard to miss!!so therefore you should have known that those houses have a protected structure inside and out, plaster molding and wooden ceiling molding are protected and therefore none of the rooms can be divided even for doors separation for toilet. The toilet is in the main bathroom and in England and Ireland, toilets are always in the bathrooms with no separation, the main bathroom is so big that the toilet is getting lost, a surely nice complaint. If you were expecting modernity and perfection, why choosing a museum type of a house, it does not make sense, there is a brand new hotel next door to us, there you would have got all your privacy, everyone would have got a room and you surely would have got to pay more. There you would have had no table, no kitchen, no private living room with sofas...to relax, cook together and you would have got double glazing, free heating and all mod cons with no crack anywhere, modern isolation also remind you that you never mentioned to me at any stage that you were traveling with 9 children. Should I have known that, I would not have advised you to rent this apartment as it is harder to manage with kids. This venue suits more adults groups who has an understanding and appreciation of what old building have to offer versus the perfect modern materials. Everything in the house has been photographed and the government wants to protect it, renovations need to have a minimalist impact on the building. There is nothing I can do on it. However, if you are so concern, we are looking for donations, I am sure that with 500000 euros, we can sort out the house much faster. However, other guests love those old walls and want us to do nothing with them, it is raw true look that guests from airbnb love and want to experience living in a genuine old house right in the heart of the city center. I also remind you that we totally re- wired the house in 2010 from A to Z, there are smoking alarms on all the landings including just outside the kitchen- dining area, we also remind you that the apartment is in our house, it is not a commercial building. I would also suggest to you before making any reservation in the future on airbnb that you pay intention to the detail description of the listing : extra cost for the gas is mentioned, single glazing , high ceilings, no isolation on the building is featured, we are not a commercial hotel and the apartment is only rented occasionally to friends and family for private use only,...
