Welcome to my home. I have lived in the town of Sonoma for 14 years and find it a happy, relaxed place to have a healthy lifestyle. I was born in Virginia but have lived most of my life in California with a couple of years in Chicago and Washington, DC. I have traveled extensively around the world and love to meet interesting people. My favorite sport is Alpine skiing. I play a little golf, kayak in San Francisco Bay, and enjoy hiking. My alma mater is UC Berkeley and and I did graduate work at George Washington University.
I have been blessed with three wonderful careers, starting as a University department manager, segueing into management and organization development, and spent the last 10 years of my working life as a marketing and sales manager for a large, international company. Now retired, I traded in the urban lifestyle for the convivial lifestyle of the wine country. The simple things - - great food, great wine, great conversation, and great friends new and old - - are the makings of my happy life.
I lean toward classical music and even love the opera, but jazz and popular songs are also music to my ears. In my spare time, I gravitate towards gardening, Alpine skiing, golf, hiking, and writing my first cookbook. Food and wine are front and center stage in my life these days. And I am an avid, independent traveler. My last few trips were to Egypt, Jordan and Morocco, Australia and France, Argentina and Chile. My favorite island is Tahiti, and my most amazing experience was on a safari in Tanzania. The Greek Islands kept me hopping and delighted with Greek hospitality. The countries of my heart are France, Italy, England and Switzerland. You will typically find me sojourning off the beaten path!
Sonoma is a unique small town, casual and sophisticated in subtle ways, fun to discover and welcoming to visitors. I can help you know where to go, where to eat, and all about our special wineries. I have the local maps for you when you arrive. If you haven't had time to figure out what to do, I can help with last minute planning. Sonoma has spoiled me with handcrafted foods and farm to table cooking. My home is in a very quiet neighborhood on the West side of town near the Sonoma Mission Inn, the gateway to the Sonoma Valley where you will find wineries up Highway 12 and have easy access to everything Sonoma. No smoking, no drugs, no pets. You will find high thread count cotton sheets, down pillows and a European down comforter on your bed. Your bedroom is cozy and my home is relaxed, comfortable, and conveniently located. It will be my sincere pleasure to make you feel at home here. I look forward to meeting you and hearing about your dreams and adventures!
