We visited a festival at the Downsview Park in Toronto and stayed for 2 nights in the basement at Charlenes house. Charlene was very friendly and showed us many things and how we get to the festival. We had our private room, kitchen and bathroom. Everything was very clean. We really enjoyed our stay there.
Charlene and her husband Bryan were both very nice. They welcome us with a great smile. Charlene took some time to show us (we were 2 girls) the space we had. Nice kitchen for us in the basement, private bathroom, private room, everything was as it is described and very clean.
She explained to us how to get to the park and took the time to discuss with me about everything. Bryan even walked us to the park so we wouldn't get lost to find the festival we were going. Charlene also answered many questions i had via mail before we arrived, so this was much appreciated.
I recommend this place to everyone who needs a place to stay and sleep in Toronto. I know where i'll try to rent a room next time i need one in this city :)
5 stars out of 5 stars!
My friend and I rented out the space for 3 nights for a Music Festival at Downsview Park in Aug 2014. Charlene accepted our request to stay in good time and answered the many questions via message that I had for her about the stay and even the city.
When we arrived, her husband and herself greeted us with open arms, giving us a tour and making us feel very at home. The house itself is exactly what is advertised in the ad (spacious bedroom, clean bathroom & functional kitchen with plates, pans, etc.). Although it is a partially shared space, the hosts always gave us privacy and were very respectful and quite. The area is very safe to my knowledge and off of a main road that has some food places and such.
Overall, Charlene and her husband went above and beyond in making our stay enjoyable. On top of the great living space, Charlene walked us to the park to help orientate us with the venue, offered us great nutritional tips, gave us some food when we were down on our luck (the hydro went out during a thunderstorm) and even very generously offered us a ride to the concert. I could go on about how great of a trip it was but I wouldn't want it to get too overbooked for when I want to stay next! :))
