Medical Practitioner working and living in New York City with my beautiful family. I love the out doors, traveling and getting cozy with a great book.
We had a very pleasant stay at Maryann's apartment. They were very kind at all times, the apartment was very clean, confortable and full of light. All the minor issues were hadled carefuly by Maryann and her husband for us to stay as confortable as we could. The apartment is perfectly located for who is willing to explore more of the up-and-comingo Brooklyn. It's location was maybe the key for our amazing trip and the opportunity to find great restaurants in a very interesting neighborhood. Highly recomend this apartment for anyone visiting Brooklyn.
We spent 2 weeks at Mary Ann's, and it was the perfect experience! The apartment is big, very nice, and with all the necessary utilities (Mary Ann had even bought a toaster and a French press prior to our arrival!). Mary Ann was very welcoming and was inquiring about our comfort regularly.
The apartment is also VERY well located! Close to Fort Greene Park, close to many excellent restaurant (the famous Junior's), and close to all the necessary subway lines (to go to Williamsburg, to Coney Island, to Manhattan, etc). The neighborhood in itself is a very pleasant place to stroll around.
The only minor thing is that the door to the backyard is located in one of the bedrooms. It was a bit cold in there in October. But there's an extra heater if needed.
I rented this apartment for my sister, her husband and two friends visiting from Italy. The apartment is basic and a bit dark but the bedrooms are quiet and comfortable. The location is great and the hosts very nice. They accommodated our request for an extra set of keys and for a late check out time.
The pros: the location is great for quick access to both Brooklyn and Manhattan. There are great bookstores, coffee shops, and restaurants all around the apartment. Also, Mary-Ann and her husband were very attentive and quick to help when we needed anything.
The cons: The apartment itself was less than ideal, especially with young children. The furnishings are pretty cheap and the place was not cleaned properly. It is also a garden level apartment which meant we heard the doors buzzing and slamming all day all hours. Again, not ideal when we were trying to put the kids to bed. Moreover, we could smell every night smoke from the upstairs neighbor filtering through the bathroom vent. And on our last day, we were woken up by two fumigation guys who were there to spray for rodents. Needless to say, we were glad to leave.
Mary Ann has been very helpful and it is a very convenient place.
I have know MaryAnn for many years and she is very warm, accommodating and thoughtful person. She treats people with respect and has the best summer BBQs. Her apt in Fort Greene is in a wonderful part of Brooklyn and the location is perfect. I highly recommend her apartment as the ideal place to stay in NYC.
