We lived in Hawaii for many years, so we bring the Aloha spirit to our home and life. We have twin 4 year old girls and twin 8 year old huskies! Everyone will welcome you then let you have your space in the quiet cottage.

Marla's cottage is perfect. It's very clean, cozy, and functional. Located just a few steps from the trails and only a mile from downtown Fairfax, but it feels completely removed and in the woods. It was the perfect getaway and while we didn't get a chance to meet Marla, her husband was very friendly and gave us a rundown of the cottage when we arrived. Not to mention, their huskies are adorable and friendly!
Very cute studio, well appointed and comfortable. Gracious hosts including a very sweet pair of huskies. A great place for a quiet getaway. Lots to do close by or do nothing at all except relax!
Relaxed, comfy and casual: this is what defines staying at Marla's place in Fairfax! We're big Fairfax fans and were delighted to find a totally new trail literally next door to this place. In addition to being really "in the woods" the cottage is super cozy, refurbished with a new bathroom and modern amenities, a huge TV screen and surrounded by fluffy grass, hills and two completely loving Siberian Huskies who will greet you upon your arrival. They stocked it with a few snacks and a casual welcome note. Everything was lovely and just *easy*. We're so glad to have this option in Fairfax!
The cottage was great and the location is perfect for hikers/walkers. We hiked the trails and walked into town for coffee and dinner. We didn't use our car the entire time. Walking back from town in the evening we heard owls hooting a couple of times.
Marla was friendly, responsive and helpful. We were out most of the time so unfortunately we didn't get a chance to meet in person.
We had some trouble with the wifi, but in retrospect I'm happy I was on the trail instead of checking email.
The private cottage was great; perfect for a quiet weekend to relax. There are hiking trails behind the Marin Stables, right next door. Also - the cottage has a fantastic, deep bath tub with jets.
Marla was a gracious host and very accommodating. We had everything we needed for our stay. I'd definitely go back!
The hostess was gone but Jonathan, the house sitter was very welcoming.
Marla and her husband were fine hosts. We were welcomed when we arrived, but barely saw them after that. The cottage was wonderful, and included amenities not in the listing (including wireless internet). We were concerned about the smell from the stables, but it was minimal outside and did not make it inside. I would definitely recommend staying here.
We had a wonderful weekend at Marla's home in Fairfax. The property is beautiful as is the cottage, and it's right by great hiking areas. Our dog had a blast too, playing with Marla's two majestic huskies and running around the yard. I would highly recommend staying there. Keep in mind the cellphone service can be spotty since (Verizon had good coverage, AT&T not as much) but they have wireless and a computer with internet so we had no issues. Thanks for a great weekend!
Very nice place to stay on a very quiet street. Very comfortable bed and wonderful tub and shower. We enjoyed the close proximity to hiking trails. Would stay here again.
Marla and John were wonderful hosts. We're very busy with family when we're in Fairfax so we didn't see them much. (Actually, I didn't meet Marla, but my husband did.) They respected our privacy but were very responsive when we needed something. We hope to stay there again.
