I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay at my studio as much as I wish you had. On the other hand, I’m glad you found some compensation and that your stay wasn’t completely spoilt. It is indeed a budget accomodation. Maybe I should state it more clearly in my listing even though the low price per night clearly indicates it is. Thus it is impossible to reach a hotel standard. It is very important that guests should read the house rules/manual before booking. It is the only way to avoid booking a place that doesn’t suit one’s needs or expectations. For instance, in the amenities section, it appears clearly that there is no lift in the building, and in the house rules section, it is mentioned that guests are kindly requested to respect my neighbours’tranquillity. It might be difficult to tip-toe in the stairs, even though it is not necessary to do so to avoid disturbing my neighbours, but it is definitely easy to keep one’s voice down. It was indeed embarrassing to remind you of this important rule, and I’m glad I normally don’t have to remind my guests. I am surprised that you didn’t have enough water to have 2 showers in the morning. The boiler is supposed to be for 2 persons, I’ve never had that complaint so far. As to the size of the towels, they are regular towels. In the email I sent you before your arrival, I stated the following :
« If, upon arrival, you notice anything wrong or missing, please let me know immediately so that I can sort the problem out. »
I was next door to you, I would have been more than happy to provide bigger towels.
As to the bad smell in the stairs, all the inhabitants of the building are upset about it when it happens and I perfectly understand that it bothered you too. It has come and gone for no apparent reason for the last couple of months. It did linger on for a few days while you were here and then disappeared. The company in charge of the maintenance of the building has already sent a plumber to check where the problem comes from, to no avail so far. It seems that a pipe may need replacement somewhere, but the solution hasn’t been found yet, so I apologize for the inconvenience. I hope you’ll keep using Airbnb in your future travels.
Myra, Mike and some friends stayed with us for a few nights. They were wonderful guests to have. They communicated well through the whole process. I highly recommend them to any Airbnb host and they are welcome back with us any time!
