We've been living in Montana for over 30 years, and have been living in the Shields Valley for the past 15 years. In our spare time we like to ride our horses, hike, fish, and travel.

Linda and Ric are great hosts. Near at hand if anything is needed but respectful of their guests privacy. Having stayed at the cabin before we knew what to expect. It is a lovingly decorated and very well equipped property with all the facilities one could wish. It is so calm and peaceful to sit out front of an evening looking across to the distant Bridger Bowl, following the progress of the Elk in the evening across the valley before you, bald eagles circling above. Then you have the company nearby of three of the gentlest and friendliest horses you could hope to meet. In all my travels across the US, wherever I go, a stay at the cabin is an absolute must.
Can't say enough good things. Came in late on a wet, dreary night, and everything was just as Linda & Ric said, in addition to they had stopped by and turned on the heat for me so I'd walk into a comfortable place. The views out of here are incredible -- this is some of the most gorgeous country I've ever seen, and the nearby town of Livingston is a paradise for ten different reasons -- and the house is perfectly stocked, and well-appointed, and very comfortable, but for me, in experiences like this, the best thing is the hospitality, and Linda & Ric excelled.
One of the most wonderful places we have stayed on our trip. Spectacular sunrises and sunsets, peaceful vistas and amazing accommodations. It was cozy, and ever one of our needs or wishes were fulfilled before we even knew we wanted them! Definitely want to go back
Our stay at Linda & Ric's mountain cabin was ideal. The cabin was well equipped and perfect for travellers wishing to spend time in this beautiful location. It was very clean, comfortable and views to die for. Ric and Linda were not there for most of our stay but their emailed instructions were clear and concise. We can strongly recommend this cabin to other Air B&B users.
We had a great stay at this cabin. The surroundings are gorgeous -- three mountain ranges in view -- and we frequently had deer in the yard. The proximity to Yellowstone is great, the cabin itself was cozy warm despite some winter below-zero temps, and everything was just right. We would absolutely stay here again.
This cabin is beautiful with great views of the Yellowstone plateau, the Crazy Mountains, and the Bridger Range. The hosts are warm and inviting. We were at the cabin to celebrate our son's 6th birthday. Linda and Ric left carrots in the fridge to feed the horses (kids loved that!) and Linda came by and gave him a ride on one of the horses! He had the biggest smile on his face - a great birthday present, indeed. if you are in the area, definitely stay here!
It's so lucky for us to stay in Linda& Ric's lovely cabin in our Yellowstone trip without national park. The 360 skyline is so splendid! The cabin has lovely decoration, very comfortable. And the kitchen is so well with full equipment. Linda had prepared everything which is out of imagination! We spent two wonderful days here and surely we want to come back to stay longer. Plus, i miss the neighbors too, horse and rabbit :) .
Having stayed last year in Linda and Ric's lovely cabin we had no hesitation in booking this time the neighbouring trailer when the cabin was booked up. The location is superb with wonderful views and the facilities first class. The icing on the cake is Linda's tireless helpfulness. Utterly unobtrusive but always at hand and ready to put herself out to ensure your every need is met. A great experience which I look forward to repeating many times in future.
Linda and Ric are friendly and wonderful hosts. We loved having their horses nearby and a full house to ourselves. Our dog Hiro was quite content to stay there as well. :-) Thanks Linda and Ric!
We enjoyed our stay. We were traveling with our dog and cat across country and sopped for a couple of days to visit Yellowstone. Staying at Linda's cabin made our stay even that much more unique. It's a beautiful cabin, well decorated with all the necessary amenities. Linda even put some fruit and basic food for us there!
We ate dinner at the local town tavern and then breakfast on our way to Yellowstone at the Beanery downtown Livingston - which we definitely recommend to eat at.
Linda and Rich were great hosts and helped us answer our questions about the area and plan our Yellowstone visit. We felt like at home.
This is a great place to stay at during the Yellowstone and nearby area visit and we are very grateful that Linda and Rich offered their special place for us.
